After countless dents in my toddlers metal water bottle, I got this to slip on the bottom. It has helped a lot in that regard. It fits on the water bottle well. The only thing annoying about it is that it doesn’t fit in her backpack side pocket so well anymore. It’s not huge, but that tiny increase in width makes it a struggle to get it in and out and will sometimes come off when trying to pull it out of the pocket. Otherwise, it is great for preventing dents and keeps it from sliding around on the counter.
