Wonderful
A gentle wandering through the inner spiritual process of an adept. So many gems can be found here. I am left with the sense of the often subtle changes that occur within ultimately leading to transformation and enlightenment. I expect to read this book many times.

Love, Love, Love the book INTERIOR CASTLE by St. Teresa of Avila....
It was Perfect! I had a copy when Interior Castle was first printed in 1961. It is what I consider the most interesting of the works of St. Teresa of Avila, Spanish Discalced Carmelite 16th century nun. I have seen other translations of Interior Castle through the years but for me this is the onethat is easy read and an uncomplicated translation. I could say this is a book on mystical theology; true. More simply, I say it is a book on traveling the mystical, spiritual path, journey, way - to Union with God. I married, my husband and I had 9 children, I joined the Carmelite Third Order and took the name of Sr. Jane of Jesus...I have followed the spiritual path to the Mountain of God, I have directed my 9 children to spiritual enlightenment. Love the book....Grateful for the book....Invite others to peek inside it - perhaps they already have.,

Spiritual Plimgrim - Ready to go deeper?
Purchased for an online course with the Center for Action and Contemplation. This book was translated by Mirabai Star and authored by St Teresa of Avila. St Teresa is a MUST read for any who wish to enlighten their spiritual sojourn and have progressed as pilgrim for a little while. St John of the Cross was her companion as she reformed Carmelite convents. She was a deeply devout Christian mystic, with a strong mind, and excellent administration skills. Her hilarious sense of humor shines through as she penned the book “In obedience” — as she keeps reminding the reader to her director/confessor. Teresa cleared away any suspicion about her Jewish ancestry and her solidness as a Christian during the Spanish Inquisition. She’s so tender and generous and pragmatic to the sisters she said verses. Christian Mysticim at its highest. 💟 Sit with her, soak it up, and journey to your own Interior Castle. It’s exquisite.

Deliberately distorted translation
Amazon should list this book with a huge WARNING instead of heaping praise upon it. The liberties the translator took are shockingly, disturbingly dishonest. Who is this translator to re-shape St Teresa's thoughts, as if she knows better? Anyone, even regardless of your religious beliefs or background, should find this a truly unethical translation. I don't understand how Ms Starr could have done it in good conscience. If you're looking for a good solid Catholic translation (or even, an ACCURATE translation) of this book, run & don't walk to another translator. There is a reason why there is no imprimatur and nihil obstat in this particular translation.I do have grudging admiration for Ms Starr for fessing up to the staggering liberties she knowingly took, which she admits to in the introduction. I bought the book because I wanted to know what St Teresa said, NOT what Ms Starr thinks that St Teresa really meant, or what Ms Starr thinks St Teresa should have said. For me, the most troubling aspect of what Ms Starr has done is to de-Christianize the book. Apparently she believes that one can be a "mystic" without going to God specifically through Jesus alone. In the view of orthodox Christianity, this is not just foolish but perhaps dangerous. Without the anchor of Jesus, you could very well open yourself up to the influence of evil spirits. What the translator has done here is intellectually dishonest and reckless. St Teresa's thoughts on connecting with God through Christ have stood on their own and inspired people for 500 years. It does not need a de-Christianizing re-write. I think even St Teresa herself would vehemently disapprove.
