CAREFREE(SR0093) 12V Direct Response Upgrade Kit

This kit is awsome!! Works great! I installed this on a travel'r electric awnkng. The only conplaint i had was that the wires coming off the control module/sensor are not the right lengths. One set of wires way longer than need to be, other set a little to short. But not a big deal. Ibe installed it works as promised. A gust that moves the the awning arms more that a few inches and it automatically retracts. Such peace of mind!! Worth the price.

The unit installed easily. But there are two issues.1. When retracting the awning starts extending as soon as the arm seats in the mounting bracket. If I stop it just short of seating and then restart it will stay seated in the wall mounting bracket.2. No matter how hard I shake the awning as the instructions say it will not auto retract. I have looked on Amazon to find out where I can get technical support but cannot find any way.Any suggestions or should I just return it assuming it is defective?

This unit worked great after a couple calls to carefree tech support (some of the best tech support i have ever delt with) aparently the manufacture got the input and output mixed up an made the wire lengths wrong, also put the wrong conectors on it. This was something i could fix but shouldnt of had to. The good thing is that tech suport worked with me and got me the schamatics so i could fix it without having to wait for a new unit.my only other gripe would be that if they would have put 10 feet more of wire on it i wouldn't have had to stop and run to napa and buy more wire to splice in. After all that was done the unit worked great as advertised. Thank god for the good tech support at carefree that helped me get the job done in time.

Great product. I had one on my old trailer, loved it. Bought a new trailer and it has a Solera awning by Lippert. No problem, the way the product is designed it will fit in the Lippert awning head and works great!

Bottom line - it works. It is mounted in the motor head unit of the awning mechanism. The cable is run down the arms, in a channel in the arm, just like the motor cable. You may need something large and flat to push the cable into the channel. One feature overlooked is that it will fully deploy the awning with one touch of the extend button. No more sitting there and holding the button down and waiting. It retracts fully with one touch also.It did not come with double sided adhesive, to mount the electronics box inside of the motor head unit nor the correct number of crimp connectors.You will probably need to make a jumper cable, at the motor end, to connect the electronics box to the motor.ACE hardware has the crimp connectors needed.

Had it installed by my RV guy. Used it once. Retracted and tried to extract it again. Nothing. Took the switch off to find out what could be wrong. The switch is now ruined. I want to order a new switch, but not Bluetooth. Can’t find the switch I had on Amazon.

My unit was putting itself back out about 2ft after closing completely, and the auto retract did not function. The unit I received had the brown and gray wires reversed internally (retract and extend). So when the unit was deployed, the controller thought it was retracted, and vice versa. I reversed the motor polarity/wires, and reversed the gray and brown wires. The unit now extends fully, and retracts slightly at the end. When it gets windy, it retracts automatically. Hopefully this saves someone a return.

Awesome product, but make sure you order the correct model for your awning. This one did not fit my carefree awning, and needed to be exchanged. Now that I got the correct model for my awning, the function is perfect allowing one touch roll out and automatic retraction in wind.
