I wrap electrical wiring in the engine bay with this, especially near hot parts like the exhaust manifold. Works great, and the velcro self-fastening feature on it makes it convenient to install. I secure them additionally with metal zip ties (regular nylon ones melt under high heat, if not right away, then over time).

This is nice product! I didn't need to use the entire piece of insulation for the project I was working on. The Velcro was not needed in the application I used it on, so I removed it on the section that I used. The stainless-steel zip ties work well but are a pain to trim (at least with my cutters). The insulation seems like it should hold up well.. I tested a piece with a propane torch, and it held up better than I expected.

Bunnies don't like to chew on metal, they just like to chew on the insulation around the metal until they hit the middle bit. So if you need to keep them from the spicy hay, this is GREAT. Much easier to use than some of the other, more expensive things I've tried (looking at you, stainless woven hydraulic covers).Can be cut with standard (but good and sharp) scissers. Still use electrical tape to wrap the ends, just in case. The zip ties also help discourage interest, there's no play in the cover with them, so not a toy or something to move around.

So i was thinking, normal header wrap is made from fiberglass, this stuff is fiberglass and it has an aluminum sheet on the outside. So its gotta keep in heat really well, so i wrapped part of my exhaust with it. You have to sorta spiral it on. Ive had no problems with it yet and i can touch my exhaust when its at temp. This stuff is great

I used this on my exhaust manifold on my 98’ Camry. I stripped away all the Velcro from one of the two rolls of heat wrap. Because I saw that other users had issues with the Velcro literally melting off of the wrap. Being that I was installing this on my exhaust manifold I know it was gonna get extremely hot so I just utilized steel zip ties. This wrap is great! I just cut it in the length and diameters needed for the manifold and applied them one by one. I find this method better than wrapping the entire manifold with the conventional exhaust fiber glass wrap. It was far less time consuming for me. I immediately noticed the decrease in radiating heat in the engine bay. If you’re going to utilize this product with the Velcro, I highly recommend you do not keep it next to an extremely high source of heat. You may want to angle the wrap where the Velcro is not facing radiating heat, but away from it. Because it WILL MELT OFF.
