Okay so, I really like this wheel, however for an 8 inch wheel, it does not have the traction my hamster needed to actually run on it. I'm going on the basic rule that an 8 inch wheel is suitable for a dwarf hamster. I have a little Robo, and he had a lot of trouble getting the wheel started, but then it was fine. Then it would get too fast for him and he'd either fling off or get stuck in some loops and the wheel just keeps going.Absolutely silent so that's a plus. But for a little guy, I don't think it's suitable. Maybe for mice or gerbils, but a tiny robo could get hurt on it. Definitely need something with traction, and I hate to say it, but something that isn't THAT smooth of a ball barring.

This is very quiet and actually less expensive than other supposedly quiet ones I've seen that are up to $30! My kids each like having their own (Syrian) hamster in their own room, but the wheel noises were bothering them at night. This one is actually quiet and all you hear is the hamster's little feet pitter-pattering on the wheel. If you have vertical bars, or no bars, you can get the one with the base. It doesn't have the structural problems that the Kaytee ones have, of the wheel sagging toward the base and then dragging noisily on it. I thought it was easy to install; the directions are on the box and they even include a small Phillips head screwdriver with it. I do wish it came in other colors so that it would be a little prettier and would hide the nail scratches and pee/poo better.

For more then 20 years I have lived with sqeaking and wobbling rodent wheels. Even other 'silent' wheels never live up to there name. THIS ONE IS SO QUIET YOU CAN HEAR THE HAMSTERS LITTLE FEET GOING PITTER PATTER ON THE WHEEL!!This wheel is probably too big for a Robo or Dwarf Hamster. It is perfect for a Syrian hamster. It is big, so you need cage space. Our particular cage only has 2 tiny doors so it was kinda hard to assemble inside the cage.Otherwise - this wheel is PERFECT.It attached well to my cage. It doesn't rattle or wobble.Highly recommend!

This wheel is so much sturdier than it looks! It is a good size for a syrian hamster and really well-made. The mounting hardware is real nuts and bolts with a wheel bearing, not the plastic peg that comes with most wheels. Unfortunately, this wheel is too large for my current cage because it has to go in a specific spot and it hits the floor at that spot. However, I'm not returning it because I want to find another way to mount it, or I might buy a smaller cage to add on to my current one just so I can use this wheel. I can't judge the noise level or ease to clean yet, but I expect it will be very quiet when I find a way to use it.

My girls absolutely LOVE this wheel (though we kept the one with the base since we have a tank.) Our white gerbil runs on it every single night (it’s so quiet!) and we are so thrilled with how easy it is to clean. During the day while they sleep, we spray it with pet safe cleaner, run it under hot water, and leave it in the tub to dry until evening play. So easy to wipe pee pee off of it, and doesn’t absorb odors like past wooden wheels we’ve tried. We also don’t have to worry about their little paws getting caught in the wheel. 10/10 would recommend for any high energy rodent!

Very disappointed in yet another wheel. I thought this would be the winner since it has so many ways to secure it. I think the issue is my cage. No matter what I put in it the wire rattles. I had one super quiet one, but it was too tiny for the hamster. Since this one is clear I can see if caked with urine a short times after I clean it. Ew!!! I don’t know if he’s peeing while running or the pee seeps down from the top level! 😂 it is very big and barely fits in our cage. I am ordering a new cage this week and hoping oh will work better in there. Otherwise I’ll probably return it.

This is a decent wheel that's thick and solid but can be a bit of a strain on a wire cage if the wire isn't as thick as it would like. Leaves just a bit of a wobble with the wheel not turning as easily as it might. Still more solid than many others.

We had to adjust it a few times to find the sweet spot where it doesn't make noise, but once you get there, a great easy-to-clean while that is big enough for my hamster to run all night comfortably.
