Upgrading an old 2 bay? GET THIS CARD!
This controller is SOOOOO Cool! I recently converted my 2 bay "lunch box" from 1394 firewire over to E-SATA/USB3. I used this controller and had great luck with it.1. It requires no drivers.2. It will see 2 drives over USB3 with no problems.3. It can be used in a HDD/HDD or DVD/HDD or DVD/DVD configuration.4. It will read/write/format drives larger than 2TB. (I'm using a 3TB now)5. It mounts with 2 screws and fits perfectly into the old "fat 50" SCSI port cutout.6. It has a bank of pins for LED ON/activity/ERROR status7. It comes with a 4-pin "floppy drive" power cable to molex connector required to power the controller.8. It comes with a driver/utility micro-CD for more advanced configuration (not needed if you're keeping it simple). If you're looking to build up or refurb an old 2 bay external drive box, THIS is the controller to get.DISCLAIMER- I did not receive a discount or free merchandise for this product.

Very easy to use
Perfect for connection hdds to raspberry pi without the need for external usb enclosures and all the extra cable mess that method requires, not to mention true hardware raid and can build a NAS using any old atx case and psu for far cheaper than buying a prebuilt or having to buy a bunch of usb enclosures and powered hubs. These are brilliant, highly recommend these controllers if you are looking for a way to connect sata to raspberry pi or any other single board pc that doesn't have sata controller chip.
