Deodorizing Citrus Plus Elder Shampoo and Body Wash by BoaVida with new leak-proof caps, Soap Made with Persimmon to Treat the Presence of Nonenal and Remove Old Person Smell, 8 oz

Bought this proactively when I hit 65 after having had occasion to stand next to an older couple who would have benefited from it. The “old person smell” creeps up on us without our noticing I expect, and I wanted to avoid it if possible. I bought the right bar soaps to address it and decided to try this as well. I use this as body shampoo and find it easier to use than the bars, as I fully wet a body scrubber and put a teaspoonful on it, then agitate the scrubber to engender a lather. Label states it is a hair shampoo as well but it does have sulfates, so will not be good for tinted hair (it’ll affect/strip the color.) I find the fragrance pleasing. It really lathers up, so it doesn’t take much to wash the body. I still do not smell my age, according to my frank son, so I believe it is working.

I have stood behind old guys in line and wondered about "that smell"? My girlfriend calls it "sunshine" but whatever it is, it is beyond B.O. When I smelled it in me last year, I freaked. After reading some medical articles, I called a colleague of mine who specializes in "old people" and asked. He confirmed that as we age, we begin to give off a smell that identifies with our reduced activity level. I started to think of it as early decay. Something akin to Mother Nature letting us know that we are getting to that point where we have outlived our usefulness.I for one will not accept that. And since I still want to be active, and appealing to the fairer sex, I choose to do something about it. The research supports what this stuff claims. It puts that "stinky old man" smell away. Now, if I can just look thirty years younger, and have a bank account that makes up for my age, perhaps I might find a reason to go to bed early that doesn't mean that I am in need of a nap.Smells good. I bought this b/c it was advertised to keep that old, stagnant smell off senior citizens. Kids have really good sniffers, & can get turned off by that “old people” smell. When I am going to be around my grandkids I wash with this. Nice, not over powering, fresh smell. Who knows if it makes a difference, but at least I make the effort. Works on body & hair. I have bought it several times.

Well smells great orange vanilla. The down side the amount of product with the price.

Great clean smell

We've only used this shampoo for a couple of times and so I can't say much about how good it is with fighting the nonenal smell. It lathers well and we like the scent of it, but it gives us the feeling that it takes away too much of the natural oils of the hair.The bottle arrived leaking. The cap was not tightened all the way, because, apparently, its opening wouldn't align with the logo of the bottle if it was and it wouldn't look right, but that resulted to the shampoo leaking out of the bottle, which is disappointing because the product is fairly expensive.I don't know if I'll buy it again, fearing I may not receive the whole amount.

I was hesitant about ordering but extremely happy I did. Great lather, smells nice nothing overpowering. I have thick hair to the middle of my back and I was amazed by the way it left my hair silky and tangle free. I did use my conditioner just in case. I will definitely order more to keep on hand.

It did nothing to change the slight musky odor I've started to notice, although the shampoo/bodywash does have a pleasant fragrance. The main issue though, is that it has caused me to break out in a rash on my neck and hairline. I have never used a product with persimmon (that I know of anyway) so I may be allergic to it, or it could be one of the other ingredients, cupuacu butter. The description on the bottle does state it is a proprietary combination of ingredients, which is code for "we're under no obligation to tell you everything that's in it". It also left my scalp and hair oily and not feeling at all clean, with a weird stiff feeling as if it wasn't washed completely out.
