We wanted a large thermometer that we could read from inside the house . This is perfect ! We mounted it on our fence . Our backyard has no trees so we were always curious how hot it gets . Love it ! Would purchase again! (PS- it’s only 9:20 am here in NC🥵)

This review is for Taylor Extra Large Metal Wall Indoor Outdoor Thermometer, Easy to Read Numbers for Patio, Pool, and Indoor Areas, 18 inch, White. I bought it February 2025. I needed an outdoor thermometer at my remote cabin's front porch large enough to be able to read it with my front porch Ring doorbell camera when I am away. And one that does not need batteries as it gets cold there. The distance between camera and thermometer is probably five feet. Previously, I bought a 12-in diameter thermometer but the numbers were not that clear on-camera especially at night with just the porch light on, and, although I could figure the numbers out, the thermometer needle itself was too skinny at the business end to see where it was actually pointing. (Maybe the newest generation ring doorbell camera has sharper resolution, dunno.) This 18-inch diameter outdoor thermometer, however, did the trick. Not only are the numbers unmistakable huge but its red needle is wide enough at the business end that I can always see where its pointing when looking at it via my Ring doorbell camera.As far as accuracy goes, I placed it on my cabin's front porch just above a small traditional mercury thermometer that was already there, in order to compare the two readings. I waited a few hours to let this new thermometer acclimate and the two thermometers are reading identically and still do over a course of several days. This means I won't need to return it! I'm glad it's accurate because this 18-inch thermometer has no way to calibrate it; it's a very simple flat-spring coil on the back, as you can expect. I'm surprised this thermometer has to cost a whopping 50 bucks when it looks and feels so lightweight and simple but whatcha gonna do?All in all, I spent the money, got what I wanted: A large round thermometer that is easy-to-read through my doorbell Ring camera. And is accurate. Hooray.

I was looking for an outside thernometer that was easy to read from the inside. Another requirement was that it be made in USA. This product fills the bill. Furthermore, the Tayler is priced right down there with the import competition. Who says we can't compete.The accuracy appears to be within 4 degrees of reality, which is pretty normal for a thermometer in this price range. Close enough for our purposes (Heavy coat, light jacket, no jacket.)Very easy to read, even if you don't have the best vision, like my wife.The only thing that seems to be inaccurate is the description of the product. It is described as a "Metal" Thermometer, but the large portion of the item appears to be plastic. The only metal is the small housing around the bimetal spring, the spring, the needle that the pointer attaches to and maybe the pointer. I can't tell for sure. No problem though. I don't care what it is made out of, as long as it works. I have only had it for a couple months, but so far, so good. The reason I only gave it 4 stars, is because of the accuracy. If you don't mind a couple degrees discrepancy, this is the one for you. Lately, I have pretty much had the same accuracy with the last 3 or so thermometers I have purchased. I think the old mercury thermometers were the best and, of course, in those days, they were all made in USA, so the quality was there. The quality of this product is yet to be determined, but it is not a big gamble.Jim A.

Junk… DO NOT BUY! I ordered one and it didn’t work so I thought I would try another one. It doesn’t work either. Save your money.

This thing is GIGANTIC! Our old one was 12 inches wide. Just look at the difference! Worth the $$!!
