OSTENT Full Housing Shell Case Cover Replacement for Nintendo GBA SP Gameboy Advance SP - Color Black

Very nice game boy case/cover that I used for my first repair on my very old game boy. Worth the money and very easy to switch around pieces and to fit perfectly, which was my main concern when it comes to Nintendo products works well and left some components of my other game boys for customization purposes

OSTENT has been one of the better brands for the after market shells and screens that I’ve used so far. I’ve done about 5 or 6 shell swaps for friends between DS Lites and Gameboy SPs. The differences are subtle but noticeable if you insist on a pure collection. Particularly with the lettering. Lettering is more sharp than factory in most cases and the speaker holes are all the same size instead of the four inner ones being bigger than the outer ones. I kept the factory screen lens but swapped everything else. For some reason aftermarket shells can’t get the L and R buttons right. The L works ok while the R doesn’t feel nearly as tactile as factory. It doesn’t affect functionality, however. It’s only slightly more rigid than the original and I only noticed by flexing it. It did have a little bit of excess plastic in some spots but it was easy to shave it off with a blade. One more thing to note is the rubber feet for the screen are not thick enough to poke out of the hole and actually work as bumpers. The hardest part was getting the hinges out. I used a screwdriver and pushed them out from the inside. You’ll think it’s about to break before it actually gives both taking out and putting in. I highly recommend getting the dedicated hinge tool for it before starting. My biggest complaint I have is the inner hole for the left hinge wasn’t big enough and I had to file it out a bit to make it fit. Without that file I wouldn’t have been able to complete the swap so be prepared for that possibility. The pictures are a comparison between the new black shell and the factory silver one. If you are prepared with tools like a blade to shave it down, a short round file, and the hinge tool then it will go smooth with only minor inconveniences.

This is a useable shell but the fit/finish/weight/appearance is clear that its an inexpensive reproduction non genuine shell

Comes with all the hardware and extras you wouldnt think you needed. My original just had broken hinges so this was a perfect replacement.

Ok so frame is decent for the price. Only downside would be the power button, start button, and directional arrows aren't perfect. The start button will jam of you overtighten the housing screw at the entrance to the cartridge input so don't overtighten that. All replacement screws are phillips which is helpful and the power button is so difficult to use it's basically nonfunctional. I had to reuse my old power button and directional buttons. The left arrow wasn't working for some reason. Just had to pivot around these issues but for the price I can work with that. Thank you.

I bought this to replace a cracked gameboy advance sp. The old unit was broken at the hinge. Replaced the shell with new unit and couldn't find the replacements for the hinges. They are not included and the old hinges must be removed from your old unit. I ordered a replacement thinking they were just missing, but reading some of the reviews from other people revealed the truth. No instructions are included so be aware of that. Over all it made a broken item usable again, but it's far from perfect.

2つ購入したが、とりあえずプチプチで梱包されてはいるが、1つはシェル自体の梱包が破れていて、テープもぐちゃぐちゃに貼ってあり、もう1つはシェル自体の梱包はされていなく、思いっきり線傷が入っている。おまけに汚い。自分は改造用で、そのまま使わないが、そのまま使うとすれば確実に返品、クレーム確定レベル。完全に仕事を舐めてるな。検品、梱包まるでダメ。

Si lo que buscas es darle vida a tu SP está es una gran opción, tiene una calidad muy buena (para su precio) contiene todo a excepción de las bisagras así que es muy importante extraerlas de la sp original o bien comprar unas aparte antes de comprar este repuesto 10/10.

中古で購入したSPの塗装がかなり剥げていたので、修繕用に購入しました。 本体ケースや部品も、問題なく組み付け出来ました。 良いと思う点。 ○簡素ながらドライバーも付属するので、わざわざ用意しなくて良い。 ○本体ケースの色は、塗装ではなくプラスチック素材そのものの色なので、塗装剥げを気にしなくて良い。 ○表や裏のデカールの印字等が、ちゃんとしている。 気になった点 ●純正の本体の塗装に比べると、見た目がチープに見える。(好みの部分だと思います) ●組付の手順書が無いので、YouTube等の資料を見ないと作業が分かりづらい。 (事前に何度も見ましたが、私は作業に1時間半ほど掛かりました) 小さい部品が多いので、作業用にシートやトレイが有ると良いと思います。 手頃な金額なので、色違いを何個か用意してツートンカラーとかにしても面白いと思いました。
