Best Stye Relief Ever, Also Good for Tired, Dry Eyes
This ointment is the best we've ever used. It's great for styes and also very tired and dry eyes. We apply a small amount to the inner lid rim, blink to disperse it, and then rest for 10 minutes or so with a moist, warm wash cloth over the eye. It heals the stye completely, and also takes away the pain. Wonderful product.

Useless
This product is petroleum jelly and mineral oil, neither of which does anything to speed the healing process. And, as another reviewer noted, petroleum jelly can worsen the stye by blocking oil glands and tear ducts. If you feel that you must put petroleum jelly or mineral oil in your eyelid for some reason, just buy some Vaseline or mineral oil. That will cost you about 1/5 as much as this product.

Provides Temporary Symptomatic Relief of Eye Area Discomfort
STYE Sterile Lubricant Eye Ointment is made by DEL, which claims it will provide temporary, symptomatic relief of eye area discomfort due to itching, burning stinging and, of course, styes. For me, it has been helpful with my poor eyelids, irritated perhaps by allergies, or by the use of inappropriate cosmetics, to be too often red, swollen, bruised, and uncomfortable. It lubricates the eye area well, and hasn't yet irritated the area by its use. However, as its ingredients are white petrolatum (Vaseline),mineral oil, a little bit of wax, stearic acid, and wheat germ oil, I don't know that any of these ingredients would irritate. This product was recommended to me by a coworker quite a few years ago: we worked in the courts, offices crammed full of paper, lots of dust floating around, which often causes styes. We agreed that it is an expensive little tube, especially considering its very ordinary ingredients. But it is cheaper than any actual eye cream with which I am familiar.

Worked
Needed a simple lubricant eye ointment to control itchy eyelids....that weren't associated withdisease or infection.Did the job and did not add medication to the eye area which was my goal!

This worked right away!
I've had a stye once before and didn't use anything to treat it, I just let it run it's course (went away in about a week). So a few days ago I started to notice that my eye was really sore, but there wasn't any swelling, so I didn't realize that I was getting a stye. Yesterday when I woke up, my eye was really really sore and a bit swollen on the upper eyelid. I lifted the eyelid and realized that I had a stye on the inside of my eyelid. I did a little research online, and decided to just apply warm water to it 3-6 times a day. Around noon, it was bothering me so much, that I decided to go to Walgreens and try this Stye ointment. I first held the warm wet towel to the eye for about 10 minutes, then I put a little stye ointment on a q tip and applied it directly on the stye. I did the same thing just before bed. This morning, I woke up with no soreness at all, and the stye is almost completely gone! I didn't expect it to work so quickly. Very pleased with the results.....I'll probably apply it once more just to be sure, but this seemed to work perfectly. Also, I have to mention that I didn't touch the stye at all. I think some people make matters worse by picking at it. You should probably just keep the area clean, apply this ointment, and leave it alone. It'll heal. Hope this helps....

Loved it!
This product is wonderful! Nothing outside of the doctor will heal a sty, but this makes it feel so great while it heals on its own. Worth the 6 dollars to make the pain and itching go away.
