Buy KOG303 Blank Transponder: Anti-Theft - desertcart.com ✓ FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases Review: Best decision I have made in a while - I bought a 2011 Chevy Silverado and only got one key with the truck so instead of paying $30-$50 or even the ridiculous price the dealer wanted to charge for a new key I purchased 2 of these key blanks and had a local key store cut these keys using my original key I already had. Once the keys were cut to my key I looked online and learned how to program them to my truck and that only took about 3 minutes and was very easy to do myself. The keys work perfectly and look identical to my OEM key in every possible way and work just as well too. This is a "no brainer" get this key like I did and have it cut at your local key shop and save yourself a TON of money. The way I programmed my key was to take my original key and put it in the ignition of my truck, turn the key to the on position for about 10 seconds (until all the dash lights go out) then turn the key off and remove it. Take the new key within 30 seconds and put it in the ignition and turn it to the on position for about 10 to 15 seconds, then turn the key off and remove it, BAM! the new key is programed, simple as that! Now you can put the new key in and start your vehicle. Remember you do need to remove the new key after the programming process and then put it back in the ignition for it to start your vehicle. Review: Works Great!!! Easy to program - When I received the LockCraft Chevrolet blank I took it to the local hardware store where the older gentleman cut it for me. He wasn't sure that it was going to work so he came out, we tried the key in the doors and it worked great. Then in the ignition, turned it and nothing happened. So here's the awesome part....the working key, put it in the ignition and turn it til the instrument panel lights up, turn it back off, insert the new LockCraft key and turn the ignition....all the instrument lights came on! Turned it off again then reinserted the key and it started right up! Piece of cake!!! I'd recommend this over the dealership (no telling what they want for one) and a leading store I found one for $35. So save yourself some money and time and go with this one!

PROGRAMS EASILY
WORKED GREAT ! Went to local key shop (chevy said they would no longer make keys unless purchased at their parts store - 10x the cost there!) Programming was as easy in my 2013 Suburban LTZ as first using the existing key to turn on the car (a copy too from last yr) , then while lights are still lit up on dash, turn it off - ,maybe just 1-2 seconds after starting car, just turn it off. THEN immediately insert the newly cut chip key in and start the car. DONE. Left it on for a few seconds and tested it, fine. I bought two extra, so the Second key programmed in a matter of 10 seconds with this simple procedure. .

Great , except feels cheaply made
Bought this as a spare in case I ever lost my original key , once it arrived I took it to Home Depot and they cut it out for free , and programing the chip took a matter of seconds ... the only thing I don't like about the key is that it seems flimsy , as in if I were to drop it the top part of the key where the chip is would break open... seems to be made of some cheap plastic, wished it would have been made out of better material but aside from that it's a working in expensive spare key that will start your truck

So simple
I almost gave it a 4 stars out of 5 but the price is so amazing for how simple the process is, I didn't want to be misleading. My only issue was that my key did not come with instructions. That being said, I read several of the other reviews to get a good idea for how the key was programmed and it worked exactly as I expected. 1. Original key goes in, turn the key (ignition does not need to start) and wait for the lights "info" lights to go out. 2. Remove original key and insert programmable key (again, ignition does not need to start) and turn the key until the the "info" lights go out. 3. Remove programmed key and then reinsert and test by turning the key until the engine starts. I did what one of the other reviewers did and stopped by my local ACE Hardware store and they cut the key for free. They didn't have the programmable key for my vehicle anyways so they were very polite about my request and it doesn't hurt that they see me in there every Saturday buying other things. Overall a great, simple, and cheap solution to something that would have cost me over $40 at the dealer. From OverStock Direct via Amazon = $13. Doesn't get better than that.

Works Perfect
AWESOME!!!! My truck only came with one key, which I thought was pretty ridiculous. I'm one to " stick it to the man" so I definitely wasn't gunna pay what the dealership wanted for an extra key. I bought two of these assuming I could just pay a couple bucks at the local hardware store to get them cut.... well it was a different story. You will most likely run into a bit of trouble trying to get them cut. I had every excuse from "It might have a virus so I can't put your chipped key in my machine" to they didn't want to be liable for cutting a key that wasn't theirs. I finally found an non-franchised ace hardware that would help me out. I would try getting it cut at your smaller ma and pa shops before the big box stores. comes with programming instructions, takes about 15 seconds, easiest thing ever!

5 STARS - But you MUST PROGRAM the key to work!!
This key is perfect for my 2010 Chevrolet Suburban. I thought it was expensive for a key, but I bought 2 anyway as replacements when I just purchased a used Suburban. I went to a local hardware store to have it cut to match my one existing key... I assumed the key would automatically work since it was cut and fit.... Nope... Luckily at the hardware store I was at (local family owned store called Laniers... Thank goodness, I'd have given this key one star for not working if I had gone to Lowes) the guy cutting it said they sold the same key for $30 so it was a good deal. I asked "$30 for a key?" He said "yeah, because it has a chip and must be programmed to turn your car on". I was skeptical but he said he knew how to do it. So he went out to my car with me and immediately put the new key in the ignition and turned it... nothing happened. I can't remember the exact process he had me do (I'm positive it would be easy to YouTube or look up in manual) but it involves using the current key, and turning car on, then off, then putting new key in and doing it as well for a certain amount of time... Anyway, I "activated" both new keys I bought and they work wonderful. Maybe this is common knowledge for new cars but I would never have thought a metal key would have a rain dance associated with it to "program" it

It is self programmable with a working key
This key worked wonderfully. Had I known that it would have worked without taking it to a locksmith, I would have had Home Depot cut it then programmed it myself. If you are able to get the key cut Home Depot, take your working key and cycle it in the ignition. Right away remove the key and cycle the ignition with the unprogrammed key. You should be able to start your car at that time with your new key. If it starts and you try it again and it starts you have success without paying $40 - $50 to a locksmith for Programming. I was even able to reprogram an old key after the ignition switch was replaced. I had mine made for a 2006 Chevrolet HHR.
