So for almost 4 years I have used Laneige sleep lip mask and loved it but on a whim (and because I thought the jar with the little gold spoon was cute) I tried this lip/sleeping mask and the results were amazing after the first night! This makes my lips super soft and plumps my lips a little and has just the slightest pleasant scent! I loved it so much I bought three more for my nieces as gifts!

Ok, I am a fan of other products from this brand. So I decided to give this a shot and can I dare say I like it, not love. Nothing special, nothing terrible. Not overly sticky but stays put. Of note, I don’t use this as a lip gloss or chapstick, thick but weirdly not sticky. No smell, soft lips. I’m not crazy about products in a pot for sanitary reasons but I apply this after my nighttime routine so my hands are clean. Go ahead, give it a go, you decide.

I purchased my first jar of this lip mask February 2023. I was just getting into Tatcha products and wanted to give this one a try.The results are truly incredible. I am on my fourth or fifth jar now and have these set up in a subscription. I use it every night as the last step in my skincare. I’ve seen some videos of people using the spatula to not only scoop but also apply. I just use the spatula to scoop and then apply with clean fingers.I lightly swipe the mask over my mouth with my finger and then gently pat it in until it’s no longer tacky. If you over apply, it can get a little sticky, but it’s not the end of the world. Guaranteed every single time I wake up I have had soft moisturized lips that lasted the entire day. I used to struggle with chapped lips, especially during winter, but that’s no longer a problem in my life since I started using this product.I would also like to note that I have sensitive lips and have realized in the last few years that many chapsticks cause me to have allergic reactions. I have never had an allergic reaction to this formula, which is a huge plus.I know the price may seem like a deterrent but this is a worthy investment. On days where I have forgotten to bring a lip balm with me while at the office or on a hike, I’ve been able to survive without having uncomfortably chapped lips because this mask has helped keep my lips so healthy. Granted, I hydrate every day and don’t pick at or lick my lips very often. In my personal experience, using this as an overnight mask has enabled me to comfortably go an entire 24 hours without lip balm application.Packaging wise, it comes in a cute little purple cardboard box. The jar is plastic but it has a tiny bit of weight to it. It definitely doesn’t feel cheap. I store it in the original box in a drawer but it’s quite cute, I am sure it would fit in any minimalist washroom aesthetic. The lid is easy to twist off and on.I have yet to try wearing this under lipstick, but the formula is very smooth and lightweight. I am sure it would work great. If you are looking for a great lip mask that will end your days of chapped lips, definitely give this one a try. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

The Heartbreak is real, and it is so disappointing! I dedicated time to reviewing this purchase to share a true product review from all aspects. Honestly, I was sold from the start with Tatcha's great advertising and packaging! Plus there's a hype at the moment for beauty/skincare products from Japan and South Korea. Their commercials reel the audience into a fresh new way to look at lip masks, specifically promoting their product. The commercials were clean, cut, and crisp, and I wanted this lip mask so badly. The Tatcha Lip Mask product packaging promotes elegant beauty in itself, but the actual lip mask product is not up to par. I, unfortunately, compare the product to using regular petroleum jelly.I have tried multiple ways of using the Tatcha Lip Mask, from using it during the day, at night, as a lip gloss, and even throughout different events, humidity, weather, etc. No matter what, my lips are feeling dry rather than refreshed like what I expected a lip mask to do. Still to no avail, I was left unsatisfied and heartbroken. For the price, I will continue to use the Tacha Lip Mask, and even though the product is small, a little dab goes a very long way. I for sure know it will be some time before I run out of the product, so not a bad thing on their part for portion size. Overall, my expectations were too high. I definitely won't be buying this lip mask again, but I love their design, so 3 stars is not a bad rating!
