I like this silent PC
I chose the W900-256 model (256GB SSD, 8GB DDR3 memory, no hard drive) to replace my Rasperry Pi 4 as a bedside computer for email, web browsing and YouTube videos. The Weidian can use both HDMI & VGA screens simultaneously, in both Windows and Linux. As the mouse cursor moves off the edge of one screen it appears on the other. The CPU is the mobile version from 2014 with on-chip graphics, so don't expect to play modern games on this. Web-search "i7-4650U" for details. min / normal / boost clock speed = 800 / 1700 / 2900 MHz. The PC is very good for my purpose, much better than the Pi at YouTube videos. In Windows idle it is cold to the touch, getting hot with YouTube videos. Not too hot, though. I used the BIOS to disable Windows Manager boot. I put my USB thumb drive in one of the 4 USB sockets and rebooted. Linux Mint Mate instaled easisly and works well. It idles a bit warmer than Windows. The BIOS is the most extensive I have ever seen, with about 4 times as many options as I am used to. American Megatrends BIOS dated 22 July 2019. MS Wndows 10 pre-registered. My 256 SSD supplied with 5 partitions:530 MB Windows Recovery100 MB EFI boot 16 MB Windows Reserved 80 GB Windows C: drive158 GB Windows D: drive (empty)The photo I have added shows the interior, accessed by removing the bottom panel. I have unmounted the Wi-fi module, it is seen right centre. I have fitted the supplied SATA drive cables but not a drive. At the top is the memory module. Bottom centre is the supplied SSD module. There is another socket alongside which appears to be for another SSD.If you want to mount the PC to a wall or other surface, I suggest you remove the bottom panel and use it as a guide as this is much easier than holding the entire PC.The PC comes with the 2 Wi-Fi antennas, SATA cable if you have a model with no SATA drive, two small brackets and a small brief, generic, Weidian manual in excellent English.RS232 is still used extensively in China for controlling external equipment and this PC has 6 RS232 sockets and 4 USB sockets.
