NEATMicrophones Widget A Desktop USB Condenser Microphone

We are a small church with a small budget...during Covid we needed a way to reach our congregation while at home. With this it became a game changer...our older audience could hear. We still have some that sit in our parking lot and with blue tooth speakers they can hear several feet away...What a Blessing this was for us...it is worth the investment for sure.

Really pleased with the build quality and sound quality from this microphone. If you're looking for a microphone with a small footprint, this is not the microphone for you, it is huge. The microphone itself is about the size of a softball in diameter. For some reason it has a speaker mesh on the base but it's just aesthetic.

We spent days researching microphones veggie deciding on this one and it works great. Turns out that this exact item was just recommended by the local schools visual and performing arts department to help assist with completing and submitting assignments during remote learning!

Company does not provide drivers in any way. on Windows 10 (tested 3 PCs) the mic installs as an unknown device, and no generic driver can be applies to it.This is all old unsold stock from windows 8 days.additionally, the box is made of a plastic sheeting that cracks very easily. box showed up with stress cracks, and opening the box destroyed it (it was in many large pieces, cracked on the corners) and my refund was denied because i did not save the box and could not get it back to Michael's or wherever you go now.

It works which is more that i can say for another brand I got. Cool looking a bit larger than expected but I' good with it.

Bought for Christmas for son and daughter-in-law - they love it.

I had no idea what to expect when I got this widget microphone. It is much bigger than it looks in photo, with the microphone being about the size of a saucer. It stands about the height of a gallon of milk. The colors are amazing. It was incredibly easy to install on my Mac. We've only played with it a little, for a Skype call, but the sound was crisp and clear. Really love it and it looks awesome on our desk!

My family has been using this Neat "Widget A (the green one)" microphone and we have to say it is pretty Neat. What do these type of microphones get you beyond the cheapie plastic free microphone that comes with some PC computers? The answer is much better recording clarity...so if better recording clarity for whatever reason then you'll want to step up to a PC mic such as this. I use this thing for work/podcast-type recording stuff but who really hogs this mic is my 9-year old daughter to lay down some singing vocal tracks (aspiring American Idol contestant - lord help me). Notables on this product by me: ---Good brand. This brand called "Neat" is a division of the famous Gibson Guitars...so if it sounds like a random startup brand there is a bit of assurance by having it backed by a well known brand in music with the assumption they will want to build products that keep within their good reputation.k These Neat Widget microphones were released for sale in the November'2015 timeframe so these are a pretty new product. ---Good design, quality, and usability. This Neat Widget is advertised for Windows and Mac PC's. I use this on a Windows7 laptop - I'm glad to say this was plug'n'play for me. I plugged it in and it worked great right off the bat. One of the big selling features of this Widget is the design aesthetics...they certainly look whimsical and not boring on your desk. Choice of Widget A/B/C looks is up to you. The quality of the mic is excellent...nice materials, appears durable, and very substantial in size sitting on your desk (large mic area easy to talk in to).I'm a bit unclear if there are actual usability differences in the Widget A/B/C versions beyond the physical looks/colors. Currently it doesn't specify any of this info on the Amazon site...I did see a few articles on the web that mentioned each Mic version was slightly tuned more for podcasting or singing vocals...hopefully they can clarify this point in the future on the product info. My guess is even if there was slightly different tuning for each that the average person (such as myself) would still not be able to tell the difference when listening to actual recording results.In summary, if you're looking to upgrade your PC Mic then this Neat Widget is a good choice. At current price of $99 this seems a good value when perusing other offering out there in the same price range. This Neat has the legacy of a good brand (Gibson) behind it. The design is attractive with good build quality. Most importantly the mic is easy to start using in my experience and the recorded results are good. Overall 5-STAR rating from me in consideration of price/value.

The audio quality is very good. It's nice to have microphones available with a sense of fun and style. Not every piece of technology needs to be a uniform grey. The cable from the mic to usb port is long enough to give flexibility. One slight criticism is that when my mic came, the front cone housing the microphone fell off. The bit of glue that keeps the front on wasn't enough to keep the cone securely on in transport. No damage was done to the mic but knocking the mic could make the wire mesh cone fall off. Just something to be aware of.
