ZefalBottle Cage

The shipping took a long time and the bottle cage is too flimsy for the trails I ride. It won't hold my bottle in rough terrain.

This is the second time I have purchased this product. Both bikes I use them on have a top tube that slopes down at the seat tube which decreases how much room you have for water bottles. The water bottles can be removed by pulling up and to the side instead of straight up so taller bottles can be used with them.The water bottles are still held very securely, they work great!

I have a rather compact bike frame, so taller bottles won't fit or are difficult to access while riding. After putting these Zefal Side Mount cages on, I can grab the bottles with ease. Since they can be mounted for either right or left exit, I have set them both up for right hand access. Most of the other side mounts that I had interest in are one-piece units, so if you have two cages on your bike, one will be left handed and the other one right handed.They're quite light weight; plenty light enough for a non-racer such as myself. Of course, carbon side mount cages are lighter, but I find it somewhat amusing as other group riders have to look down at their cages to be able to figure out where their minuscule carbon cage is and I can just jab my bottles back with confidence. The crazy easy access means that I actually sip water more frequently (which is a good thing, if you're wondering).The height can be adjusted (with screws, not on-the-fly) which is more useful than I thought it would be. I started out with both cages at the lowest setting to accommodate taller bottles, but the side exit allowed me to put both to the highest setting and still be able to get 24oz bottles out with ease. The higher the cages are mounted, the less you have to bend over to reach your bottles.The only negative point I have noticed is when I ride with the cages empty. The plastic is quite flexible so that riding, especially on rough roads, caused the tips to rattle against each other. Not a big deal for me.My wife has not-so-subtly hinted that she wishes she had these cages on her bike, so here I am back on Amazon ordering two more.

The Zefal Side Mount Bottle Cage is a well designed lightweight alternative to the heavier, more expensive cages on the market. I wanted a way to carry a second water bottle on longer rides but my bike has limited mounting space. The side entry feature of this product solves the problem. I use it together with the Two Fish Quick Cage Adapter also available on Amazon.  Two Fish Quick Cage Adapter Mounted on the seat post tube, I can easily carry a second 20 or 24 OZ bottle with no cross tube clearance problem. The product holds the bottle firmly and so far, I haven't lost one even on rough trails.As other reviewers mentioned, the cage does rattle when empty. The plastic cage lips strike against each other from vibration. In my case, I carry an empty bottle or just remove it when not needed.Time will tell if the plastic product will hold up. For now, I give it 4 stars and plan to order another for my wife's bike.

SIDE MOUNT BOTTLE CAGES. PLACED THEM ON THE DOWN TUBE DOWN FROM FORK TUBE ON FRAME. THIS ITEM DOES NOT COME WITH BOLTS TO ATTACH IT TO YOUR FRAME. SO IF YOU DO NOT HAVE BOLTS THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO FIND YOUR SIZE NEEDED AND BUY YOUR OWN BOLTS TO ATTACH THESE CAGES TO YOUR BIKE. THESE HOLE REGULAR BIKE WATER BOTTLE VERY WELL. THIS WILL NOT HOLD A SODA FROM THE CORNER STORE, NOR WILL IT SAFELY HOLD A 12 OUNCE SODA CAN, SO GET YOURSELF A NICE RE-USEABLE STAINLESS STEEL BICYCLE WATER BOTTLE IF YOU PLAN ON USING THIS BOTTLE CAGE. THE MATERIAL THAT MAKES THIS CAGE ITSELF IS VERY NICE, THE HOLES/OPENINGS FOR THE BOLTS ARE EASILY CAPABLE OF FITTING A WIDE ASSORTMENT OF HOLES IN FRAMES. THIS CAGE IS TWO PARTS THE WRAPPER ' C ' AND THE FRAME MOUNT, SO IF YOU WANT TO INSTALL THIS ON EITHER SIDE YOU CAN, JUST FLIP OVER THE ' C ' AND YOU CAN INSTALL THIS BOTTLE CAGE TO EITHER OF YOUR FRAME.

I needed a water bottle holder and this one worked for my needs. I ride a Cannondale RZ 120 One, and the space between the top tube (that has a slight bend), the shock, and the down tube. Additionally my cabling for brakes and shifting run on the top of my downtube. Thankfully the cage sits on top of a bracket, and that bracket raised the cage up off the downtube and provides the spacing I needed for the cables. My only minor complaint is that the cage can be a bit noisy if there isn't a bottle in it. The 2 parts that are separated on the side are very close together, and bang together when no bottle is present. Overall, for the money, great product.

I bought a Thermos HS4080 24 oz. water bottle but the 3" diameter did not fit into my wire cage or any of the holders I tried at a bike shop. I decided to buy the Zefal side mount cage 170001 since one reviewer said his 24 oz. Polar bottle (also 3" diameter) fit well. I tried the Zefal for the first time today and it is fantastic. The Thermos did not move at all and is easy to put in and get out of the Zefal. The Thermos water bottle is tall and is heavy compared to a plastic bottle, but did not budge at all. The Zefal mount is slotted so the whole holder can be moved up or down for optimum location. My regular size bottle fits great also, but I doubt I'll ever carry that non-insulated one again. I'm a street rider so have no idea how it would fare on a mountain bike.

This is great design! Allows me a water bottle in my tight mountain bike frame triangle - no way without the side entry. The nylon is super tough and holds tight, but flexes enough to easily remove and replace bottle effortlessly while riding.

Not greatly happy with this. Got it for my son but it doesn’t have a base to hold the bottle if you use a thin bottle. Slips right through. Suppose it’s for certain type of bottles.

Ne ho provate tante, di vari marchi come elite, specialized (con becco alto, a doppia V rovesciata etc...) ma nessuna mi impediva di sbattere la borraccia sul telaio alla estrazione... prima di questa!!! Si può decidere da quale lato agevolare l’inserimento-estrazione e risulta pure stare più bassa rispetto alla norma!!! Borraccia MAI sfilatasi!CERTAMENTE NON ACCATTIVANTE NEL DESIGN MA SUPER-FUNZIONALE!!!
