My first impression of this shirt was that it was soft to the touch. Some people have commented that this shirt feels scratchy. Yes, there is some of that, but you have to consider that this is a linen shirt and linen tends to be scratchy.The first thing I did was measure the true chest size of the shirt. For size Small, the seller provides a (recommended) chest size of 35~37 inches. My chest size is 36~37 inches. The true size of the Small shirt is 43 inches. At first, I was appalled at the excessive size. However, after putting it on, I realized another thing: linen fabric does not stretch like cotton. If the shirt were to have a slim fit with a true chest size 38 inches, I probably would have not been able to put on the shirt. Nevertheless, although loose, the fit feels right. However, to wrap this shirt around your body, you would have to wear a belt or sash around the waist, which is very appropriate with this style of shirt.I generally don't like chest pockets, so I wish this shirt came without one. However, overall I am satisfied with the quality and style of this shirt. I bought the beige color, which has a medieval/renaissance look to it, and may consider buying the other colors, as well.

(I usually wear XXL/3XL because I prefer my shirts baggy)I've bought a few shirts for Ren faires but often you end up with cheap material that doesn't last. But this shirt is awesome! Comfortable and fits well, could totally be used for every day use. I removed the metal pieces off the strings and used a seam ripper to take off the breast pocket so it would suit my Ren fair needs, and I'm super happy with it.Bonus: it doesn't lift up and show my stomach when I raise my arms!

Fabric a little rough but not too bad. Fits well.
