The self-titled debut that started it all has turned ten. At the dawn of the new millennium, songwriter, producer, and multi- instrumentalist Klayton created Celldweller, a ground-breaking aural entity for the next age. Thriving on originality, Celldweller cross-bred electronic styles such as Drum'n'Bass and Psy-Trance with modern Alternative Rock and Metal on his self-titled debut, released independently in 2003. The Celldweller album met with critical acclaim while climbing to #17 on the Billboard Internet Sales Chart. Celldweller gained Top 40 Metal Radio charting with the track “I Believe You' pulling into a solid 11th place on the R&R Alternative Specialty Show Chart. Achieving a feat shared by only an elite handful of albums, every song on Celldweller was eventually licensed for use in popular media. These songs were heard in movie trailers, TV shows, and games such as Spider Man 2, Constantine, Crackdown, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Enter the Matrix, CSI, UFC, The Shield, and more. Now, Celldweller has been reissued to celebrate the tenth anniversary of it's release with the addition of previously unheard song “Uncrowned' and updated artwork. A special 2-disc Deluxe Edition featuring remixes, demos, and rarities is also available. While Klayton busies himself in his Detroit studio preparing the future of Celldweller for 2013, celebrate the past with this monumental work.r the Matrix; and television shows such as CSI and The Shield.

Incredible album
If you're already a fan or if you're new to Celldwellers music, this album is just fantastic. I've had Klayton in my collection for years, but I wanted to get the anniversary edition of the this one to see what it offered that I had not already heard. And while I know most of the songs by heart, I can honestly say there's something just a little bit different about this album. I don't know if it's been remixed or remastered, but it sounds so much better than the copies I have in my collection. The mix is spot on and it's one of those albums I love to listen to that gives my stereo a complete workout. The punch that this album delivers is amazing, and with all the additional creative sounds that Celldweller fans have come to love, it just has to be experienced to be understood. One of the greatest original hard rock/progressive/techno artists you will run across. So glad I picked it up!

Happy Anniversary
The original Celldweller self-titled debut was a monumental release in the world of electronica, and it set the stage for the plethora of material that Klayton would subsequently release for entertainment of all forms, to include motion pictures and video games. Not one to be content with the status quo, Klayton has remixed many of the songs from this release previously on the double CD The Beta Cessions. This time around, for the 10th anniversary celebration, FIXT presents the original recording (cleaned up maybe) in its original format (15 songs with the 3 interlude tracks) and an entire second disc of tracks not previously released on CD. While the original release speaks for itself (too many amazing songs to mention each in detail here), it is worthy to note that these songs still sound amazing and cutting edge 10 years later, although the slower pace (and the absence of dubstep) on most of these tunes may be less appealing to the current scene-dwellers. Disc 2 is filled with two new songs, remixes by Klayton (to include 2 more versions of "Switchback"), a Bee Gees cover tune ("Tragedy") and 5 tracks of unreleased demo material from 2005 and 2006. Of course in this collection we finally have "Shapeshifter" on CD (in 2 different versions no less). By far the most interesting song is the dubstep infused "Uncrowned" because it was intended for release with the debut yet it sounds more like much of Klayton's subsequent work. It's a great song, the lyrics included in the 6 panel fold-out insert which also contains all of the lyrics from the debut and a mini-poster on the back side. As with all things Celldweller there is plenty to process here and enjoy for many hours, and even though most of this stuff is available for digital download there is always something extremely satisfying with having all of these great songs in one place on CD. About the only deficiency here - it would have been nice to have some liner notes or a little history about the origin of these tunes and about the formation/history of Celldweller, one of the most innovative and creative acts of the digital era.

Klaytons best album to date, but improved upon
Klaytons best album to date is improved upon in this. There are no skip songs, and each track perfectly merges multiple genres, and contains smart and challenging lyrics. The second disk adds previously unreleased demos and traks that bliw the mind. The remixes on it are top-quality. I have nothing bad to say about this album.

Amazing Musician!
I repurchased this after loosing the original with autographs by everyone in the band. Thankfully the cd walked, the case and insert with autographs did not. I love this CD, it has not lost it's edge over the years. I put it in my top 10,

this is probably great. I had the impression that this group was ...
Not my cup of tea...but, if you are into heavy metal or music to fill a black light setting, this is probably great. I had the impression that this group was more a trailer music or soundtrack style but I was wrong about that. My bad.

Outstanding CD
My 15-year-old son's review:In my eyes, this is an outstanding CD for its mixture of industrial metal, harsh growling vocals, and melodic singing. Clayton remains the best multi-instrumentalist musician in modern music.

Delux
・・・・それと兄貴、お願いだから-Take It & Break It:vol3「switchback」のCD化やってください。

Remastered perfection
It can't have been ten years, surely! Industrial rock crafted with exquisite care and attention to detail, now remastered and packaged with a load of bonus content including remixes, singles and work with other artists plus a few unreleased demos. 'Celldweller' is a landmark album and one that seems to finally be getting the recognition it deserves given the steady stream of releases from Klay Scott over the last few years - you'll have heard several of these songs in movies, trailers, video games and so on, and now's your chance to hear the full range of what Klay 'Celldweller' Scott can do. Metal, electro, drum and bass, ambient, rock - all on here, all amazing. One of those albums to take with you on the spaceship when you leave Earth.

Smorgasbord of Rock
The two CDs, that last a total of almost 160 minutes, contain a wide variety of different electronic rock styles that includes; nu-metal, drum and base and something in between with occasional death metal vocals added to the mix. These are a reflection of how the very talented artist Klayton has evolved over the years and serve as a good introduction to his very enjoyable music. I particularly liked the remixes and tracks that had not previously been released but I have no favourites as they are all good in their own way.
