Restores my love for waffles! NO LEAKS!
This vertical waffle maker has restored my love of waffles! Soooo much less mess and guesswork if you follow directions. It does NOT leak batter! Do not regret purchasing one second. Smells a little weird/hot in first heat up. But that goes away after the first waffle. Maybe discard your first waffle but after that first one the smell went away. This thing makes super tasty waffles to perfection. My favorite setting is 3 or 4. I gave up on waffles until I tried this one purely because of the mess the traditional waffle irons always seemed to make. Would buy this one again if needed and recommend to anyone who wants to make tasty homemade Belgian style waffles. Thank you Cusinart for another wonderful product!

GREAT PRODUCT
Their is a slight learning curve to this waffle maker. We used the Belgian waffle mix from Winn Dixie. First try I could not get the waffles completely round. I use milk instead of water when making these so now I add 1/2 cup more than called for which makes the batter a bit runnier. I also move from side to side when pouring into the slot at the top. Once I changed these 2 things I have prefect waffles every single time. I use the #5 setting so they are a darker brown and crispy. I also bought some butter flavored cooking spray (this will leak out the bottom) so make sure you set your maker on a round pan or something so you don't have a big mess. I spray top and bottom plate make 2 waffles then spray again. Never have had and issue of it sticking when done this way. If you choose to use chocolate chips grab the mini ones they work so much better!Kids love it, I love it so a win win for our family!

Best waffle maker!!
This is the second waffle maker I've tried, and it works significantly better than my old one. There are just so many features I like about this waffle maker:- Small footprint makes it easier to storage in my kitchen, where cabinet space is limited.- It beeps to let you know when you waffle is done (based on your preferred darkness-setting, 1-5), so you won't under or over cook it. This was a BIG improvement from my prior waffle maker, where I'd regularly undercook waffles.- Easy to use - you just dump your waffle mixture into the top of the machine and... that's it!- It gives you a PERFECT exterior. I use the "3" setting, and I got a nice light brown, slightly crispy exterior. YUM!Additionally, clean up was pretty easy, although I do wish I could give it a quick rinse in the sink (the instructions say to wipe down with a cloth instead). As a bonus, I liked the recipes I tried from the included booklet. Yesterday we made the lemon poppy seed waffles and they were a big hit with my kids!

Almost perfect
Pretty much perfect! The pour opening is a little small so you will make a small mess. Waffles cooked perfect every time!

Cooks evenly and easy to store
Absolutely love this waffle maker. Setting 3, turns out the most perfect waffle. Love the batter cup that comes with it. It's very handy to attach to bowl ready for next waffle to be made.

Super good quality and super easy to make, but bit smile when you first buy it.
This is my first waffle machine, and I’m very happy with it! Very easy to use, very easy to clean and it never sticks to the surface. However, during the first few times there was a horrible smell no matter what I did I couldn’t get rid of the smell. After cleaning it with warm water and soap, I made waffles at least 6-7 times that I had to dump into the garbage bin because of the smell. If there was a solution and I didn’t know it, that’s on me, but I washed it multiple times and heated it without the batter in it just to get rid of the smell. Now that we have been using it for months, the smell is gone and we are very happy about it if you buy this just find a way to get rid of the smell in a different way.

DISAPPOINTED: Doesn't Fill Up to Make a Full Waffle
I was thrilled the first time I used this. Perfect waffles. But then my son sent me a recipe for "Authentic Belgian waffles" that he wanted me to try. He loves the taste, but for some reason the batter never gets down to all the nooks and crannies, resulting in oddly shaped, 2/3 full waffles. It is a lighter better because eit has egg whites folded in, but that's pretty common in Begian waffle recipes. My husband had the same problem with a different recipe that didn't use egg whites. We found a work around, which is to put the waffle iron on its side so it lays like a normal one, fill it and then stand it upright, but it's not how it's supposed to work. I'm truly disappointed.
