Good for removing rust
I use this on one end of a polisher with a wire wheel on the other end. This is a good combination for cleaning rust off metal with the wire wheel and using the flap wheel to take it down to bare metal. I had one like it (don't know the brand of the old one) in service and used it for years. I got this one with the larger arbor hole to accommodate a new polisher that I got. I usually run it at the low speed of 1725 RPM and it does of good job of getting down to bare metal.
