Brings out the natural wood, baby
First, I’m an intermediate getting more advanced (not to be confused with professional) guitarist. I gave a five for longevity as natural strings. Coated strings will obviously last longer but these seem to last as long as uncoated strings would be expected to maintain their tone. For brightness, I did the same, as they deliver what I wanted the brightness of the string to be. I played with nanoweb elixirs and they are brighter and last longer. These strings are amazing. I had ghs and D’Addario standard issue strings. I always replace with Elixirs. The idea of a coating seeps in as something as more of an adjunct to natural acoustic tone, but when I play them I lose that idea bc of their playability and bright jazzy sound. I play a Takamine GJ72CE right now. For the price range of the guitar I’ve been blown away by its sound, playability and versatility among styles. None of the strings made the guitar sound like it’s wood quite like these John Pearse Nickel Strings. That being said I’ve never used other nickel strings. They make the playability more acoustic, adding more friction to groove and resistance to bends, as well as producing a significantly more hollow wooden sound that I feel really brings out the acoustics of my guitar more than any other string I’ve used. I will probably alternate between elixirs for now, but once I get an electric guitar again I could see these being more permanent on my acoustic. These are really awesome strings.

Perfect for my little dusty swampy blues machine.
You just can't go wrong with JP strings I've used them before but never these nickels. When I put an old magnetic gold foil on my little single O Recording King I figured out real quick that my b and e strings rung strong but the 4 others just didn't cut it then it dawned on me that duh copper and bronze aren't magnetic 😅 I went with a heavy set of DR Pure Blues 11-52 electric strings for about a month and although those are great on this. They were very slinky, I seen this set of John Pearse nickels late one night and decided I'd give them a go, it's been more then a minute since I've used JP's but now I won't go back and these are deffenitly the string for this guitar, the plugged in sound is unmatched, and they are heavy enough to get good projection on the acoustic front. Thanks Amazon for having these because I'm sure they can be hard to find 5/5 stars all around.

They sound good.
Great sounding strings but I received 2 D strings (.032) and no G (.024). I wasn't too happy about that.

Nice strings!
Have a very balanced tone. Put these on my new Blueridge br-180,( after trial and error with four other brands of strings), and these were the perfect match. You will not be disappointed.

My guitar came alive
I’ve had my Gibson j45 for about 4 years now. I recently tried these JP nickels out and am totally sold. I’ve tried Martin,D’darrio,Elixir and Gibson and they are all fine strings but these really made my guitar come alive.

Nickel strings bring a great tone!
I was a little tired of the phosphor bronze sound on my new Seagull S6 Original … so after reading about the return to nickel strings I gave the John Pearse brand a try.WOW… just the sound I’ve been looking for for years - really reveals the sound of the guitar wood (at least to my ears) if you seek a little acoustic adventure Give ‘Em a Try.
