Good replacement for discontinued Hartell pump
My existing condensate pump was Hartell KT-15-1UL. That was 20 years old and still working. The tubing from pump output was getting very stiff and rusty. So, I replace the pump and the tubing. That pump had 15 foot water lifting capacity. That pump is now discontinued. I researched other brands but they are not as powerful as the original one. Finally, found the next version of Hartell pump. This one has 18 foot water lifting capacity. The two yellow wires are useless for average user. These are to be used if you want to trigger an alarm when the pump fails and level increases. I just cut it and taped it off. I tested before I installed it. I plugged it in a receptacle and poured almost a gallon of water in the pump. It started running and emptied out the pump after I stopped pouring water.I order tubing from Amazon as well. The tube this pump takes is 3.8" ID.ATP Vinyl-Flex PVC Food Grade Plastic Tubing, Clear, 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD, 100 feet Length. I could not find 50' tube so I ended up with 100 foot.Hopefully, I am good for another 10 years.

Prone to air lock?
I plumbed and wired the pump as a replacement for an aged (14-Yr) "Little Giant" pump. The Hartell pump did not operate when its reservoir filled (furnace humidifier run-off). I removed the pump for examination and test. I found no apparent damage but removed the impeller clean-out on the bottom of the unit for inspection. The impeller was not restricted or damaged. I sealed the clean out plate and re-tested the pump - it pumped at a very low volume. I removed the impeller clean-out a 2nd time and found no obstruction so re-sealed the plate. On 2nd test the pump worked correctly. The pump may have had an air lock within the impeller portion: it may be subject to air lock. It has operated correctly since.

Fantastic condensate pump!
This is one great pump. We have it hooked up as a condensate pump from our dehumidifier in the basement, and have had it up and running 24/7 for over 1.5 years with no issues. This baby waits for a full reservoir, and then pumps out the contents in one session. It comes with a 3-year warranty to boot. I had a condensate pump from one of the big home improvement stores, and for less money, this one is far, far superior. The home improvement store one failed in 1-week, and 2 subsequent pumps had the same fate. Highly recommended if you need a quality pump.

It does what a pump does.
It is a pump, and it moves water. Okay, it is quiet and empties very fast. I've had it catching water from my dehumidifier for a couple months with no issues. I have about 28 feet of hose on it. It goes up about 6 feet real quick then down for the rest. Empties in probably 5 seconds..

Bought a spare, just in case - after purchasing a home with this pump. Can't be without AC in Florida.

Where's the durable made in the U.S.A. version?
The second time I've replaced this. Well, nothing is built to last forever. That's how it is.
