Premium device for budget
Excellent piece of hardware. I have been a mobile phone user since 1997..... I have change lots and lots of devices since then. Some of them were boring but did the job and some the exact opposite. Previous phone was a Huawei p10. Well this one is far better than p10. Battery lasts longer. It feels flagship fast. It's 5g. Screen is not smiled but great. Far better than half the apple phones which cost twice. Camera is good. People say that it's not flagship good. However when I checked the pictures I took , I was shocked by their quality. Portrait mode rocks, night mode is above average (to me it's great - kills the apple se). Has wide angle (again kills half the apple phones). Comes with 128gb but cannot take SD storage. I can love with that. Its a bit big, but has one hand mode for those with small hands (I found it perfect to use and have medium size palms). Perfect for movies although has one speaker only. As soon as you connect a pair of earphones (either through usb or Bluetooth) it's great. Mono speaker is very loud which is good news. UI is nearly clean Android (for the purists - me included). I was between that and Nord, but his one won me as the price was 80 quid less and Amazon offered it with 5 installments at the time (beat that oneplus!). Since I got it, it has two security patches (the July one and the August one). Therefore we have good signs/indications of support. Mother realme will support it with two major updates and three years in total. Package comes with 30w fast charger, which can fully charge the device (from zero) in less than an hour. We are talking about premium features that other brands (Samsung and Apple for example) will charge extra. Hope this helps people decide. Of course if you are an iOS ecosystem fun, then this is not for you. Now that price dropped a bit - got for it.

Honest Review from long time iPhone User.
Like many others these "Offbrand" smartphones always appealed to me for their blantent value for money. I was due an upgrade from My iPhone XR at the end of January 2021 and thought I would give Android and Realme and chance.Honestly I can not complain about this phone in anyway whatsoever! This thing really shocked me at how much phone you get at this price point.Snappy Ram & Processor - Anything I threw at it, it loaded up in an instant no problems with any I installed.Camera - I loved it, super crisp and with the HDR, Low light performance is great and the dual selfie camera I was so impressed with.Battery/Charging - Can't fault, Charges fast, last all day EASY, Also the Nighttime Battery Saver is so good uses not even 5% overnight. Also comes with a thick quality cable and charger block.Screen - Great colour reproduction from the IPS Display, Super Smooth @ 120hz.Face / Fingerprint ID - Great no issues and probably more reliable than my iPhone was at this.Audio - This is the only thing I would change about the phone! It has a single down-firing speaker, don't get me wrong it sounds great and with Dobly Atmos but the Realme 7 Pro has dual speakers top/bottom and it jus makes the listening experience so much better in my opinion. As I tend to watch alot of YouTube.Esthetics - I think the phone looks amazing, the Jungle Green is stunning looks much better in your hand. Talking if in your hand, I like the size and the added weight is not a problem most likely from the aluminium skeleton and gorilla glass front and back I believe but still Not a Heavy Phone imo. Feels premium with good build quality.I'm just blown away with this phone! I feel stupid for paying £600+ on mediocre phones all these years! I would recommend to anyone thinking of buying one to do so as I'm sure you won't regret it.With Amazon Returns & 2 Year manufacturer's warranty what's not to Love.I also purchased the X50 Pro 5G weighing the pros and cons between the two will be a struggle I think!

Amazing phone overall, despite silly bugs, 'features' and poor support
Edit 20/5/21A summary given all previous considerations is below. Despite several stupid issues and no support, it's obviously a great device.+ Overall, amazing build, style, performance and feature set, it is one hell of a phone, especially for the price+ Latest thing I noted is the brightness dimmer goes way down, that's actually useful if listening to YouTube without watching+ Screen is great+ Sound quality is incredible - punchy, loud, clear- Poor after-sales support- Input of PIN doesn't keep up, you have to type it slowly - very stupid and annoying- Vibration on individual apps (or in my case seemingly most apps) doesn't work at all - appalling bug- Incredibly annoying and ridiculous "feature" whereby phone vibrates for a failed login. However this will happen all the time just from picking the phone up briefly as it uses face recognition. There is no way to disable this, I've already stopped using fingerprint scanner to limit the incidence of it. Zero help from Realme. It's so annoying.Edit 2/5/21Docking a star for poor support: STILL no fix for the constant vibrate when you go anywhere near the main button on the phone. TERRIBLE feature, at the very least there should be an off setting. Also, PIN entry has a major bug, it doesn't work unless you pause and enter it slowly, it's really, really annoying and again I cannot believe they can't be bothered to resolve it.Edit 11/1/21Still very much enjoying this superb device, but a couple of things Realme cannot or will not respond to, and features needed, means I'm docking a star:- As with other Realme phones (and I assume other Android 10 devices), there is an infuriating vibration if finger/thumb unlock fails or you pick up the phone or look into it (facial recognition fail). Both of these unlock methods work really well anyway, it doesn't bother me to try again, reposition my finger or whatever. All this vibration does is waste battery and motor life. I've queried with Realme six times and they just refuse to reply intelligently, avoiding the question, stating what I've already told them etc. Poor! Edit 15/1 - they still can't answer properly (over and over again they say it happens for "unauthorised access" - TOTALLY missing the point that it's the user who is irritated by it, but they did manage to confirm it's a feature that can't be disabled. They said it might be resolved with an update, I hope so, DREADFUL feature.- I cannot get vibration alert to work, I've tried all sorts of settings and combinations. With my last phone, I simply get it to vibrate mode, and then SMS and WhatsApp default to vibrate, simple. How can the user experience be going backwards on such a common function?- No notification light.Edit 9/12:My battery seems fine, but it seems somehow to drain very much if I leave wi-fi or data on overnight. The behaviour hasn't been consistent, hence the alarm. I'm not sure which is draining it quicker (wi-fi or data) and whether it's connecting to 5G (which is in my area but not necessarily indoors all the time - can't tell as the phone's icon is simply too small to see). Perhaps there was a background app also causing an issue? In any case, I've tested by routinely killing apps and turning off wi-fi and data for long periods; battery then lasts ages so it's not a battery fault. So all seems OK, I think, though some questions unanswered about overnight drain.Edit 6/11:As mentioned by other users, battery keeps draining. I'd hoped it was a one-off as it seemed to resolve after restart and recharge, but alas not. Extremely disappointed.Quick edit/update (24/9/20): Having used the phone for a few weeks now, I'm really impressed with it and enjoying it. The issue with the main button hasn't got worse, so I don't think it's defective, more just not as responsive as it could be, perhaps not the best quality, it just mean occasionally I click it and nothing happens. Having not owned a recent, high-performance phone, it's amazing seeing how quick it does basic things. Even just selecting a snap to email, it's on another level to what I'm used to. My rating would be 4.5, I really think Amazon need to allow half-points or use a 10-point scale. The difference across 20% margins is too much to not be able to differentiate.Original/current review:Amazing spec and performance. Looks and feels fantastic, will smash other more expensive phones yet feels high quality.I'd like a headphone jack; although I bought an adapter, I prefer my phone to be the right way up all the time and not have to swap the adapter when I plug headphones back into other device. No notification light, FFS. Second time in succession I've forgotten to check before buying, though as I'm used to that from my old Moto G, I'd likely have bought it anyway. I wanted this phone for 5G, and there's little else that can touch the x50 at this price, with 5G.I'd like to be able to turn the vibration off when it fingerprint log-in isn't accepted, it's not necessary and is annoying.Slight concern over main button side, it will click but not action anything if you don't press hard enough. Perhaps a good thing as not too sensitive, and OK if it stays like it is, but I hope the switch won't fail in time. All other features are as spec, and everything is just really well presented and neatly done. The UI is great, the menus are fine, it's got dart charge....it's just all-round impressive.
