Great for normal riding! Not great if your feet need to be more secure
If you're looking at these pedals, and especially the reviews for them, I am guessing you're not a professional bike rider, just as I am not. I got these pedals as a stand in to replace the abysmal pedals that came with my mountain bike, but even that is a luxury nower days. These pedals are nice and light, have decent build quality and they spin fairly smoothly. There are pins, however they are perhaps a bit chunky and short in comparison to more mountain bike oriented pedals. These would be brilliant for a hybrid, or for a road bike where a person doesn't like using clipless pedals. No, they don't have reflectors, or any way to attach them, but if you're that worried tape some to the back of your shoes, or better still, just buy some decent bike lights. They will do the job, but for mountain biking where your feet are being bounced around, perhaps some more mountain bike specific pedals are better suited as these didn't keep my feet on them when riding trails. For £11 though, no complaints, they are okay for normal use!

Uncomfortable
As another reviewer said, the central spindle protrudes higher than the front and back of the pedal. When you wear soft soles you can feel it digging into your foot. Ok for shorter rides but after 20 minutes it starts to bother me.They are cheap, look great and are very lightweight, that's why I'm giving them 2 stars, but I will need to replace with ones that are designed better than these

Lovely finish. Run well.
The finish is first-class, which pleased me because they were part of a renovation. This really helped me to take pride in the finished job.Everything is metal, including the screw-on bearing covers on the outside of the pedals. They run smoothly, are straight-as-a-die, and have no play in the bearings. The studs give great grip in wet and dry.The down-side is that they are pressed together rather than bolted: un-screwing the bearing cover reveals a pressed-on spindle rather than a nut, so there is no way to replace the bearings. But I can confirm that at least the outer-bearing is a cartridge one.The pedals were stiff to turn when they arrived but freed up considerably after a five-minute ride. Presumably, they were pressed together over-zealously at the factory. Even though they were stiff to spin, they were smooth and remain smooth, showing that the bearing surfaces are hardened, which is not something to take for granted in my own experience.

Cheap and somewhat reliable
Put these on my road bike, as i don't enjoy clip ons. The raised grips aren't the best but overall the pedals do as required. The middle is a bit of a pain as you can feel it under foot when peddling

Why remortgage for pedals?
These are pedals! They help to propel your bike forward and they don't cost an arm and a leg. There are other pedals that cost over £100 but these are mine!Let's face it, unless you are competing at a professional level, these will do just fine.
