Static
Unfortunately, despite looking like a decent cable, the audio quality isn't good when there is silence during music or speech. Have tried it in two different phones with the same issue. The USB-C also doesn't fit all the way into the phones.

Well made small adapter
This little adapter helps to re-use the old wired headphones with the new phones with USB type C slot. The adapter is well made judging from its appearance, smooth neat edged and thick braided sheath. It is plus and play, with no issue. Sound quality is superb. Could do with less packaging though.

Great price and works very well.
Does well at what it was intended for, enabling a lossless connection to my headphones with no obvious issues as of yet.

Over the top retail packaging
In my job doing sound at our local church I'm often confronted by unexpected challenges and just recently one of the singers wanted to connect her phone to the PA system to play music from YouTube. Simple... I ran home got my Lightning to mini-jack adaptor, tried to plug it in and realised we were not dealing with an apple phone but an Android of some description with a USB-C socket. Nothing I could do, we made alternate arrangements. But I figured I'd get my hands on every conceivable adaptor and make a little emergency pack to carry around with me.That's where this Boompods USB-C to 3.5mm stereo mini-jack comes in. It'll enable me to plug phones with USB-C sockets into headphones. What you get here is a pale blue and grey braided cable just over an inch long, and at one end is a metal encased mini-jack socket with about 1cm of grey rubber-like strain relief where it joins the cable. At the other end is a matching USB-C plug. No sign of gold plating. The metal surrounding each end is anodized light blue to match the cable and carries the Boompods logo.At just about thirteen quid the price being asked for this seems a bit high to me. There are people on Amazon selling competing products for less, some bearing a startling similarity. Boompods claim this cable is particularly able to flex, being tested 12,000 times. It is likely to flex in use so this might prove to be of benefit. What's not so good is the retail packaging this cable comes in which is many many times the size of the cable, a whole load of unnecessary printed cardboard, some glossy, a rigid plastic window so we Internet buyers can see inside the box - as we're unable to imagine what the contents might look like. Then there is a big rigid light blue plastic arrangement to clip the box to retail racks at the top, and finally - weirdest of all - two magnets glued inside the flap that you can open to read about the Boomflex cable's attributes. Really, all of this unrecycleable waste is unforgivable - it's not like you'll want to carry this box around with you it's so unnecessarily big.In summary - a useful little cable that solves a connectivity problem. But so much unnecessary waste on a product that is being sold over the Internet where this sort of packaging is shameful.
