Home: 50 Tastemakers Describe What it is, Where it is, What it Means

With 50 tastemakers contributing, I had hoped that some would have evolved living spaces that were marvelously unique (ala Bloomsbury) or reflective of some unusual vision. So I was a bit disappointed. Too few of the homes and related stories held any special interest, and a few contributors were openly suspicious of anything so materialistic as a home interior. That's swell, but why bother contributing to a home photo book? Perhaps it was the author's intention to demonstrate that most homes, including those of the cognizenti, are about as unremarkable as that of a poor reader such as yours truly.

I was hoping more pictures similar to what is shown on cover. Bright colors or at least something different. It might be ok if you are starting fromscratch but it was not helpful to me. I have been there, done that. I donated to local library.

This book is inspirational and I am glad I bought it. I love the thank you and no thank you part in the back of the book. I'm not even decorating anything at the moment but love to think of what I can do when it is time.

This book has lots of beautiful pictures and as always has a world focus. It generalized for my taste however. Shows lots of different types of homes and elements of homes. Good for armchair traveler.

This is a great book for decorating ideas. I only gave it 4 stars because it does not come in a hardcover and the softcover tends to break away from the spine. but as to content, if you love a modern but country feel, this is great with plenty of antiques.
