Bestauto Hydraulic Steering Kit 90HP Hydraulic Outboard Steering Kit with Helm Pump Cylinder Marine Steering System Kit

I installed this by myself 2 years ago. The only issue I've had is to purge the air bubbles in the system about once every 6months, which is easy to do with the right tools. It only takes 20minutes to purge. I have this system on a 90hp mercury and have not had any trouble with it.

Product works really well with my old 50hp evinrude. I still have yet to put it through it’s paces of a full season. I’ll try to update review if anything fails or if nothing changes.

Installation was easy, but after one year of use pump is defect and whole system uselessHave to replace all, just a waste of money and timeMy next Kit will be manufactured in Europe, not such a cheap crap from china!!

The system was pretty easy to installing everything and seemed to work fine until our 3 time out with it. As we were backing out of the slip I heard a pop and the steering locked up. A few moments later fluid started flowing out from under the console and I found were it was leaking between the two sections of the pump.I’ve contacted the seller about the issue and waiting on a reply.

So far, so good. Hoping for longevity and durability. Time will tell

The kit I ordered is defective, per the certified marine mechanic who installed it. He said it appears that this set had been previously returned. The box didn’t even have all of the parts.Now I have to order another complete helm, probably BayStar this time for more money and pay the mechanic for two instillations and one removal. Not a good experience at all.

Sells are bad on this unit losed. The sells in the unit are not good. this product is defective

Pump quit working after 3 months since it is outside return window amazon will not help and I cannot get hold of seller , they asked for pictures and information which I sent to them and they haven't responded back , their product is junk , don't buy from them .Actually a dangerous product if it would of quit while driving the boat at 20-25mph boat would of lost control and caused accident .....

Poor installation instruction. No steering fluid and does not say what type of steering fluid. The manual is a cheap photo copy. should be printed in color. I hope there will be improvements.Update as of July 10 2022 at 15:00Hrs: I purchased this item on FEb 2022, had it installed on my boat and it works great at first even despite of very poor installation instruction. Today while at the lake, suddenly it wont turn left, and it took around 6 to 7 even more turns before it reacted and steer. I am disappointed of the quality of this unit and now my vacation been ruined. I have used this item only for few days maybe about 3x out in the lake the Hydraulic system failed. I suspect its the Helm that or maybe the cylinder. I dont see oil leaking out. I hope I will get refund or replacement of this item.Update as of 17:00Hrs, I had a mechanics check the steering and said its the helm that is having a proble. The quality of this product is no good. My other boat has an hydraulic steering made by Hydrodrive And had it for about 3 years now. I never had an issue, not even single problem but this product only one week it broke.

This unit seems to be good quality however the instructions are poor and i would not recommend it be installed with out some mechanical experience.

After install the unit worked well...2 days later took it out and the starboard pump flow wouldn't work, took system out and flushed unit and found chards of black seal in hydraulic fluid on the starboard side of system... after reinstalling the starboard side wouldn't pump ANY hydraulic fluid through the system.Waiting for Amazon to too refund for product.
