Civil PE Structural Practice Exams: 40 Civil and 80 Structural Practice Problems with Quick Reference Guide

Helped me pass PE! The questions are a little easier than actual exam, it gave a you a boost of confidence definitely. The solutions are paired with CERM chapters, which is very helpful. I honestly use this book as somewhat a guidance of which chapters of CERM should I learn from.

The guide is so helpful

This was the best value I found on practice exams. Most others cost the same price with a third of the questions. And there’s an extra breadth exam on the website too, so the price really can’t be beat. I wish you could print the exam from the website since it doesn’t do you much good on the test itself if you can’t bring it with you. I felt like the questions were a little easier than other prep materials, but not too bad. They cover a good range of topics, but timber and masonry are lacking. The PE asked a bunch of conceptual questions that this couldn’t help with, but I didn’t see other practice tests that had those either. Overall it was a great purchase and helped me pass the exam.

This book definitely exceeded my expectations. I've spent considerable money on reference material, codes, etc, for the upcoming PE exam. Relatively speaking, and considering what I've spent on other study materials, this is a great value. The discussion and core concepts covered in the beginning of the book are very helpful. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend this book. I reviewed a lot of materials for the PE; this book is the best. All examples are realistic, and the solutions have great explanations. Also, the core concepts quick reference guide included is beneficial.

1. Finding answers in the solution at the back of the books is really confusing and hard because the author does not even know how to use spaces. It’s like reading without period in every sentences so I ended up highlighting everything to easily find what I’m looking for. 2. Some solutions just pop out of nowhere. Did not even explained where those numbers came from. 3. Some references were wrong. For example: finding the development length of a 90 degree hook, the solution says section 12.5 of ACI 318-14. You look at section 12.5 of ACI then you will know what I’m talking about. All in all this book is very confusing!

the CBT exam need less complicate solution, because it is difficult to search the code content in one screen. Well pickup for the entrance level learner.
