Solid stand!
This stand is really good. My favorite part is it holds the instrument high enough off the floor I can leave the end pin extended. This makes it very convenient to grab it off the stand and practice any time I have a few minutes. If I had to mess with the end pin every time I probably wouldn't be as motivated. Also it's very sturdy and holds the instrument firmly. I have a big 7/8 bass and once it's in the stand it would take quite a jolt to knock it over. It would take more than a casual accidental bump. It would have to be pretty intentional. I feel very comfortable leaving it in the stand in my practice room all the time.

Best bass holder I’ve found!
Did some research and for the price point, this is by far the sturdiest upright bass stand I’ve found! The first order I got came busted and bent, but after returning it, a replacement was sent and fast! It is exactly what I needed and I truly appreciate its ability to fold flat for loading in the vehicle when heading to play music.

Yep, holds the bass. Worth it.
Holds the upright bass. Fool proof. Stable and solid. Not much to wax eloquent about - it does it's job, reasonable price, easy to use. Should have bought it a couple years ago instead of having a bass on the ground or leaning against the wall all this time.

Holds my 3/4 very well.
Very stable stand. Padded well. I like it much better than the stands that hold it by the neck.

Purchased to replace and K&M Stand
I purchased this Hercules stand to replace a highly rated Konig & Myer stand. I owned the K&M stand for around nine months. While it is well-made it does not provide much in the way of stability. It is difficult to place the end pin in the small "cup" which allow then allows the instrument to pivot easily. The arms around the waist of the instruction to not provide much immobility of the double bass. The instrument stands almost straight up. I learned the hard way to be careful to place the stand somewhere where is cannot be bumped. My bass fell twice, the first time doing $500 in damage. It was knocked over again recently with no damage done. I guess I could be more careful but, I should not have to be. I just ordered and received a Hercules stand DS590B. What a difference! The instrument is well supported, does not sit on its end pin and was considerably less expensive. It is every bit as well made as the German made K&M. I wish I hadn't waited to long to buy it.

Nice stable stand
It does it's job. It's stable and holds the base. Great for display and making it easy to pick up the bass and play. No more ugh I have to get it out of the case and put it back in the case and put it away so people can't see my big bag in the front room. Nice product.

Well made, does a great job holding the bass.
I really like this stand, I have been using it for about two months. It does hold the my bass well. I wish they had made the lower cross bar that holds the bottom of the bass an inch and half higher or made the bar adjustable. Why, because being 6'2" I would be able to put the bass in the stand and leave the end pin out. With this stand when the end pin is extended at normal playing height, the stand loses contact with the ground on three sides; very unstable. That being said, I am very careful to make sure that the bass makes contact on all sides of the stand and I only use the stand with the end pin up. I will say that on occasion sit and play the bass in the stand by adjusting it towards my body. This acutely changes my hand position especially when the endpin is not extended, so I would not do that on a gig. I would not use it in an orchestra or classroom setting where the violin players like to cut through the bass section. I could use it on a jazz gig where techie and other personal weren't cruising around it. or for breaks. Once the bass is placed properly it rest very securely. Be sure to check that the stand is making contact at all points on the ground. With all that said, I like it Update 7/29/19: I still like the stand however, I had to rap the foam with tape as it has begun to deteriorate where the wood contacts the bass. I now even more that before feel that the bar that the bass rest on should be higher so I could leave the endpin out. I may go back to putting it in the corner between breaks.

Great stand, as expected from Hercules. Sturdy & well-padded, folds up nicely, a slightly cumbersome for travel but it's a bass stand so... If you're looking at this, you're already carting around a whale of an instrument anyways :P Generally speaking though it folds up thin enough that it fits in the car without issues. Just load your whale first. Works great for keeping my 1939 Kay C1 in place when she's not being played. Works great on both hard flooring and soft carpet, no wobble. No complaints!
