Great Immno text
This was a required text for my Public Health Immunology class (upper level Health Sciences elective in Undergrad). This text is not for a layman, it is an in depth and technical introduction to immunology at the scientific level. Not sure if it is on par with medical text books since I am still in premed, but this text did not skim on the nitty gritty. Lots of information, lots of images and diagrams. It was overwhelming at first, and I am used to reading scientific literature, so I would not recommend if you want something super basic, this will make your head spin. This book went into more detail than my professor actually covered and tested us on since the text is at a higher level than the actual introductory course we are taking. I'm sure it will serve as a good reference point if I need to review immuno in med school. Came with free online version which is a nice deal. The immune system is amazing, fascinating, complex, and impressive! You will be in awe at the amazing things happening inside your body! Loved this class and this book.

Great Beginners Immunology book!
My professor said this was one of the best immunology books he's seen (at least for beginners), and this is the type of guy you trust when he gives his opinion. After my class, I'd have to agree. The book is organized from simple concepts to more advanced ones, with each chapter building upon the previous. Sometimes it can get a little confusing, because your thinking "Wait...it's chapter 8 and this stuff we talked about in chapter 3?" Then you get to the end of the chapter and you realize that they are going way more in depth than before, and adding in new theories and information. There are a few mistakes, but our professor found most of them. The visuals are really intense, even down to what color things are specifies individual things (except for a few mistakes, as mentioned).I'd recommend making sure you get a new copy so you get the online version also. It's super handy to be able to search for terms and find them through all the chapters really quick.

Best basic Immunology book!
I used this for my intro to immunology class and continued to use it as a reference for any immunology needs. I love this book and would recommend it to anyone who is taking immunology. Very well drawn and well written.

Highly recommended.
Sufficiently well written and concise that I read and annotated the entire book within the first week of my immunology course. It's well-organized and at a proper level of depth; in fact, after comparing the course syllabus and lectures to this textbook, I have completely ignored the course materials in favor of using the text (disclosure: I took an immunology course in undergrad). It is clear that some topics are only superficially covered, but in every instance, a deeper level of detail would be excessive for medical student purposes. This book sets out with a particular goal in mind (discussed in the preface), and it does exactly that — no more, no less. Highly recommended.Update: Crushed the final for my course, beating the mean by over 1 standard deviation. Your mileage may vary, but I attribute a lot of my understanding of immunology to this book.

A good immunology textbook
The book arrived sealed in plastic, without any corner damage. Content-wise it is a very nice book for understanding the subject. Would recommend for anyone who's struggling in immunology at medical school.

this one isn't bad. Definitely helped in my immuno course
As far as textbooks go, this one isn't bad. Definitely helped in my immuno course! I couldn't understand the professor at all so it really was a grade saver. I used this for two courses- the book for my other immuno class wasn't the greatest

Its a great introduction to immunology, but there is a later edition out.
Probably the best book for an intro to immunology. Abbas & Lichtmans skilful use of colour to label the different cells and their parts is very useful for students.

Good book if you don't know shit about immunology, but you need to learn it quickly
I started my PhD in immunology and beforehand I only had some knowledge of the subject, so I found this book incredibly useful to set up a base for everything I needed to learn. It reads very well. The authors repeat some of the information sometimes, but I found that helpful to remember it.
