Works great!
My 5 year old daughter and I are very happy with the Trailgator. We took it for a 5 mile ride last weekend and it worked great. It negotiated hills and turns well, although you do have to be careful on tight turns (as you would with a bike trailer). My daughter is pretty skittish when things don't feel secure, and neither of us noticed any wiggle on her bike when it was attached to mine. I definitely feel her, especially when we're going slowly and she pedals (it's a bit more work to balance), but I would assume that I would experience the same thing with a regular trailer bike, and I don't really notice it when we're actually moving along at a regular pace. It would also perhaps be less of an issue for a larger adult with a large child-adult ratio. I weigh 120 lbs. and she weighs 42 lbs.It did take a bit of time to install to make sure that everything was attached correctly--and there are a lot of things to attach--but I felt that the instructions were clear given that the unit has to be able to work with so many different types of bikes. I attached a Raleigh Retro 16" to a Trek 7000 26" Women's bike. I did end up having to replace my seat post from a square-topped suspension post to a regular round one in order to mount the tow bar high enough to clear my rear wheel, but once that was done everything installed smoothly. My husband put thin rubberized shelf liner between the U-bolts and the head tube of my daughter's bike to try to minimize damage to the paint. It hasn't affected the security of the bolts (perhaps it keeps them from slipping?). We'll see how the paint fared when we remove the bolts. I didn't notice the problems others have reported with loose connections--I'm not sure if Trailgator improved these parts or what the problem was. Although we just used Allen wrenches to tighten all the bolts rather than a torque wrench (but we really cranked the wrench), I haven't noticed a problem with anything slipping.Connecting and disconnecting the bikes goes smoothly and quickly--not that much more time consuming than connecting up a bike trailer--and the tow bar stores securely when it's not in use. I was concerned after reading some of the reviews, but I'm glad I got this. My daughter and I love using it.

Look no further if you want a POV that is very skewed off center while biking!
Where do you even begin on reviewing this product and the journey it contains. This attachment does nothing it advertises. That is if you can even get it assembled!Despite the size of the instructions, which was that of a small dystopian, teen novel, there was no coherent way to put this thing together. No diagrams or pictures of the various parts, despite the instructions referring to part "Q" etc. These people went the exact opposite way of Ikea and included no visual aids at all; My senior english teacher would have been proud of the author from Trail Gator. After finally finding some help from a YouTube video, it took me about an hour to complete the installation process from start to finish...I don't know if that reflects more poorly on the product, the instructions, or on the user though. After installation, it looked promising. There's a reason why they say "looks can be deceiving though". This thing made my son's bike lean worse than an alcoholic after happy hour during Mardi Gras. I felt more like I had a side car to my right than a child behind me. We tried to adjust various things, but to no use. Since he didn't want to addition for Cirque du Soleil with his stunt riding, we quickly called it a day and headed home.I now am writing this review, absolutely dreading taking this juggernaut back off, only to turn around and reattach a product that is actually useful. I'm at least hopeful that another product won't come with an instruction manual with a foreword by Tolstoy, nor encourage the balance of Charlie Sheen in it's users.Unless you have the balance of a pygmy mountain goat, or unless you are literally, always going to be riding on a steep hill, I wouldn't advise purchasing this product.

Lots of looks...
I love this, and I get tons of looks and constantly hear 'oh how cool' from the neighbors. I like the fact that I don't have a single use item like the normal trail bikes, and if we take a longer ride and my daughter wants to ride around a park or be on her own for ahile we can quickly detach and off she goes.Things to consider/pros and cons:1. Your bike, and your kids bike. I don't have any experience with the uni-task trail bike, but I would not put this on an expensive bike. It feels like there is a lot of stress and weight from this. Granted, my kids bike is pretty heavy, the system is pretty heavy, and with her lollygagging around back there, sometimes there is a lot of side to side stress from on the rig and my bike, and a lot of extra weight on the back tire of the lead bike.2. They are serious about the speed limit. 15MPH means 15, your kids bike probably isn't designed to go much faster than that and things get squirrely above 15.3.. They offer quick release training wheels... get them. If you don't, plan on bringing a wrench to bring the training wheels down or tighten them when the fall down while riding4. Finally, this is a great system to fit multiple bikes while being quick to release and store on your bike. It is not easy to assemble initially. The need to fit multiple different kids bikes at the required front wheel height means there are multiple pieces, shims and options when building this. We were lucky not to need many shims or extra parts. There are torque specifications on several key attachment points, you need a torque wrench for proper tightening.Again, I love this, it works great for us, my daughter loves this after her initial uncertainty, the little 'turbo boost' when she decides to get serious about peddling makes the ride even more enjoyable.
