Shotgun shell holder
I bought this holder for my Rem 870 Tactical. As of today I have not installed it but the only thing I see is the rear sight will have to sit on top of it and require re calibration of the sight after installation. The item looks to be of solid quality and will do the job. I use of of these at work and find this type of holder a simple easy way to carry additional rounds. The top rail is a bonus for additional items. Shipping was fast and once installed, I will update this review.

Fits and holds shells tight
Fits perfect on my 870 with factory drilled and tapped holes. Also needs a tiny bit of force to get the shells in but it means it hugs them tight. The reviews had me worried a bit but I’m glad I bought.

Easy to install
Matched the mounting holes on my 870 perfectly. Nicely finished. Had to trim the rear of the forend stock to clear the saddle. Also, the forward most shell slot gets in the way of cycling the action so will probably not be used or might just cut it off making it a 5 shot saddle. Overall though, I’m very pleased.

It claims it fits the Mossberg 500 when indeed a dozen
The piece is a good piece for the price, but it doesn't fit the Mossberg 500 holes do not line up at the top of the firearm had to drill two extra holes the the screws that they provide are too small to hold the unit in place.

If it ant meant to be.
Does not fit Rem 870 Marines Magnum. The saddle can sit semi flush with top of and side of body. The arch has a gap which in my opinion doesn't really matter. The holes is 1/16" shy from center from top of barrel. You can tap new holes but that would misalign with any internal component within from chambering. Plus, you would have to tap the rail, pilot the saddle first then tap the Rem. The screws are 1/8" to long, longer than what's needed, filing or cutting will be required. Plan a head, make sure you know where the screws sit, in some places the thickness varies. No point in tapping a hole that can't be used. No pun intended. It's true, gunsmith is well suited to make the modifications, I recommend it. Don't make the mistake just cause you can handle a hammer. At the time, this was all that's available. Yes, I bought it but it's sitting on the side lines for a different shotty. Wish it wasn't so but rather wait to do it right. That's my 2 cents.
