I add these along with chia seeds to my water daily for extra fiber and omega-3 intake. These are comparable to chia seeds, but have different nutritional properties, so I'd definitely recommend doing some research to see which you can benefit from the most. Just soak in water for roughly 30 minutes and they're ready to drink! The basil seeds soak up water almost immediately and I rarely find any "duds" that don't gel up as they should.If you're just trying to make some traditional Asian desserts, these would be my go-to for that as well. The basil seeds have the mild flavor you'd expect and when they do expand, they're a nice bouncy yet crunchy consistency. I always have these in my pantry!

I like using this as chia substitute since has the same properties but no lectins.

WAY WAY BETTER THAN CHIA SEEDS

I don’t like that the nutritional information all says zero and is basically useless. Otherwise it’s as advertised.

I decided to buy this jar option because I had seen so many complaints of people buying the bagged option (from various brands) and having the bags ripped during transit and causing the seeds to spill inside the delivery envelope. Although, one of the other reviews had an issue with this jar having a broken seal and lid. You can see from the picture how they package this for delivery. The jar is put in a plastic bag and sealed and then that is put in a brown semi padded mailer. The only damage that happened to the jar was a small dent in the corner. I think it would be better if the package was bubble wrapped or something. These seeds swell up nicely and as you see from the pictures, all of the seeds were nice and swollen. I've used these in yogurt and I also drink them. There is no real flavor to them. I will definitely be keeping these on hand.

Very strange. The reason I purchased was for added protein, which Basil Seeds are SUPPOSED to have. Very disappointed.
