Great quality at a price that won't break the bank.
I have been looking for a tripod which would be talk enough, versatile and wouldn't break the bank. When I found this tripod, I thought giving it a shot, with the thought of disappointment and regret, however the feeling changed as soon as I took it out of the box. Every little detail was up to my expectations and some even more. So here is my review of this tripod.Build quality and AestheticWhen thinking 81inch, heavy comes to mind. However from the unboxing I was very surprised at the weight, which not being a carbon fiber tripod, still is quite light and compact, my actual tripod was 70inch, and both size and weight are similar. It's made of aluminium mostly with some rubber parts. If you want a lighter one, the carbon fiber is the answer, however I prefer to save for glass!I can honestly say it's one of the best looking tripods I have encountered out there, those rings and lock releases give it a nice punch.Functionality and portabilityCompletely folded is quite compact, and the inclusion of a bag to protect the ball head is a very thoughtful idea, thank you. The carrier bag is quite nice, waterproof and multilayered. From a versatility point of view, this is all I need, tall, robust and stable even at extreme height (78inch). It has the typical hook for the backpack for extra stability and, a major plus for me as I do wildlife photography, it can be converted to a Monopod, at even bigger height of 81inch, built surprisingly from one of it's legs, instead of shoving more metal into the central pole like others I've had. It's also reversible for close-up macro shots which I love and the feet can be removed, exposing metal spikes for tricky slippery terrain. Everything is well put together and you get extra tools for maintenance inside the box which is handy. At 19 pound load capacity, I don't know any camera that this tripod wouldn't support, as it's is really sturdy.ReliabilityIf any doubts, Victiv offers a 10 year quality guarantee. I personally never expected any Tripod to last more than 5years, unless they are collecting dust on a shelve, mine get usually beaten daily.ConclusionIt's good the looks, the quality and versatility for any photographer at a very appealing price point. I am extremely happy with it and recommend to any fellow photographers out there.

Excellent item.
Surprisingly sturdy. Well built. Comes with spare plate, mount screw and Allen keys. Also love the carry bag it comes with. The instructions could be better but it’s straight forward to adjust or change into an monopod and back. All feels good quality and definitely good value for money. Very happy and would buy again.

High quality all around!
Received in 5 days to Ireland! This is a medium-weight tripod (1.9kg), not a professional videographer's manfrotto nor a cheap lightweight -- Just barely hikable for the devoted photographer. For the price, it is quite sturdy. It comes with a nice padded carry case with a shoulder strap. The hook under the central pillar is for hanging weights in case you are using it in windy conditions. The Victiv tripod can be changed into a wide variety of configurations, such as monopod, wide/flat stance, and camera beneath apex. I am struck by the high quality and finish of every part. For example, it has both a linear and a circular bubble level, the catch that holds the ball works very smoothly and catches it very firmly, The upper segments have soft but firm neoprene foam pads (like handlebar grips on a bike), the levers for locking the leg extensions are fiberglass-filled plastic for extra strength, and the rubber feet can be easily popped off to reveal metal spikes, but are held on well enough that they will never fall off accidentally. I bought it because it is quite tall, over 2m fully extended, so no crouching. To accomplish that it has four leg extension latches and five segments plus an extendible central pillar. It is a bit jiggly at full extension -- only for no-wind situations at full height. But you can spread the legs wide and add ballast for more stability. Key parts are all made of metal with a few unchamfered edges I will be filing down. There are no cross-beams to get in the way of macro photography when hanging the camera from the pillar. It comes with a 5-year warranty and a promise "If there is any defect in the following situation, our friendly, tender customer service will patiently listen to you and solve all problems." I did not realize I was buying a counseling service, too!

Light and compact, extend to above head height
The media could not be loaded. The 81inch tripod is just the right size for me who shoot a lot of photos behind large group of people on the go. Once extended it can get to above head height, my EOS R have flip out screen which I can still see if my subject is in frame etc. When folded up it is just about fit in my back pack and I like to have this when I am travelling as I have the option to just take out one of its leg and use it as a monopod when I am on location and just leave the rest in the hotel room. The mono pod extend to similar height of the extended tripod so having the same reach is great. The ball head have knob screw type tighting adjustment, the panning motion is fluid and to extend the central column is easy with a twist to the ring. I wish the legs can have the same easy twist lock but the good old flip and hold down lock is more secure so I am happy with that.Only the legs locking mechanism is made of plastic, all the heads, legs and body are of metal so light but strong enough for my EOSR and 70-200 lens combo. There is no safety limiter or spring when camera is mounted inverted for low shots, you can get close to the ground which is great but if you don't be careful it can slip and send you camera straight to the ground and smashed up your gear. Best to have something between your camera upside down and the ground for that type of shots

Sturdy, lightweight, solid as a rock! Love it.
I have two cameras - Nikon D7500 (typically used with the Nikkor 18-300 zoom) and Nikon Coolpix P1000. Both stellar and both heavyweights. The Coolpix P1000 has a weird center of gravity when the 3000mm telephoto is fully extended, tending to make the front end dip.I had originally bought the Compact Action Aluminum Tripod from the famous Italian Tripod company (they who shall be nameless). It's a good tripod for the price, but simply unable to deal with the weight of my two cameras. I saw the failure in action when I was trying to take moonshots on the full moon on June 21 - no matter how tightly I set the camera, the flex in the tripod would ensure that the front would dip, leading to frustration and wasted shots.I immediately did some research and settled on the Tripod (brand name 'Victiv'). I tried it out today - first off, despite the light weight of the tripod, it's rock solid - you can feel the heft and the firmness in the head, which is a pan/tilt type, that can be locked into position and totally forgotten about. No flex here. The quality of production is excellent - each component is carefully finished and works as it should. I found pros as below:1. Rock solid - zero flex. Can be locked in any position with camera.2. Head designed to easily come apart into component pieces for ease of handling, including the pan/tilt handle.3. Pan/tilt handle can be locked on either side of the head.4. Reverse folding legs, removable hook, removable center column.5. Flexible - can be used as monopod.6. Ratcheted legs - you can spread as much or as little as you wish and then lock into place.7. Removable rubber feet enclosing spike feet.8. TOTALLY reasonable price.9. Arca-Swiss type Quick release assembly, but plate size seems to be larger than the usual. Still, not an issue as I can switch the plate between two cameras.10. QR Has an additional fail-safe (fall-safe) lock nut that needs to be depressed for the removal of the plate (fixed on camera). Extremely difficult to drop the camera when you un-screw the QR plate.Summary: Looks and feels like solid, long-lasting tripod. Everything is solid, yet lightweight. Truly well-crafted. And the price is a fraction of the high-end tripods, without compromising on quality.Yes, I do recommend this product.

Works but needs to be assembled more tight
Some screws were not well assembled and the screw for the head is too short

Genau, was ich brauhe
