Best pens ever!
These are the best pens! I love the fine tip, this makes it much easier to write. I also love that they are not super thick as they are easier to grip. These are my favorite pens!

Not all created equal - get Japan version if possible
The Pentel Energel 0.5 mm is definitely my favorite pen at this time - the fine tip write a consistent thin line and is the best gel pen I have used with regards to smearing, either with my hand rubbing on the fresh ink or with highlighting written text, which I do quite often. Also, the writing is typically very smooth, not scratchy like many other fine point pens.My main complaint is the RTX shell, specifically the shells made in Mexico instead of Japan. Both use Pentel ink made in Japan, and at first glance they look almost exactly the same. But in use I've had several pens where the shell doesn't remain on tightly, and two where the shell cracked - and in all these case it was the Made in Mexico shell. Pentel needs to increase their quality control for their RTX shells made in Mexico - but until then purchase the Made in Japan pens if possible.

Greatest pen for the money !
Saw this pen mentioned in a book written about, of all things, "Happiness." Just for giggles, I looked it up to see what the big deal was that the author was making about her go-to pen. I'm not sure if it is the grip, the feel, or the smooth writing, but I love this pen. I have used hundreds of pens throughout my long career in computer science management. I have found the one.

Fine point pens
I just love these pens. They write smooth and they don't leak and write dark. Simply great.
