initially slow and sticky

Strange rubber, never experienced this, initially the ball doesnt even bounce off of it. you can lift up the racket with the ball under it and the ball sticks to the rubber. This settles downs after a few hours. Play for a few days, depending on how much you play, I did play a lot but it settles down. I was expecting uncontrollable bounce and impossible backhand, so this was primarily for forehand. I am not a regular or pro player, just trying to get kids excited about a sport I regularly played years ago (without any coaching unfortunately, except for a book). Surprisingly, this is excellent for backhand and defence also because it has a lot of control. There is excellent spin also, but I've never been myself super good with spin. Still learning. The dead fish smell is probably glue or the rubber itself, it goes away in two weeks. Close to rubber you can smell it is an organic chemical smell and not dead fish. Oh THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: If you get one with a white wax sticker back paper attached, it means this is already pre-glued. You do not have to put glue on the sheet. only on the racket blade, let that dry and apply the rubber after taking the white wax paper off. As per youtube. I did not know that, so I put glue on there an then that would not come off and turned into little balls and then the sheet went on the blade uneven in spots, My fault there. Now I know. It still plays excellent. This is not cheapo rubber, I would think comparable would be pricey Butterfly and Yasaka rubbers in performance but perhaps not in feel. The feel is unique. Almost as if the ball doesn't want to bounce when you hit lightly and when you want it to go fast and bound much, it does. It cannot be reading your mind but it feels that way. Very strange but enjoyable play.

Perfect for crazy spins.

Rubber is extremely sticky, and has fantastic spin. I am able to pick up a 3 star ball by setting the paddle on top of it and lifting straight up. However because of this, all of the speed is definitely sacrificed. The ball just wants to stay stuck to the rubber. After a few days of play though, dust had gotten on to the rubber and it had lost the overly tacky characteristic so the speed was much much better. So overall great rubber/sponge combo after some dust had gotten on to it and speed was allowed to show through.If you want to clean the rubber of it's dust, just apply tape to the rubber and peel off. The dust goes from the rubber to the tape and rubber works just like new.

Hurricane 3 is better for forehand, and butterfly is suggested for backhand. To maintain the best performance of this rubber, you have to “灌胶”, which means after a certain time of use, you need to peel off the rubber and re-brush a few thick layers of new glue. In this way the sponge will be swelled, therefore you get better control and more power.I don't like the pungent smell of this rubber, so I give it 4 star. It is better to leave it somewhere nobody lives and let the wired smell go, before you use it.

This Rubber is Great for those of us who can really attack, Great for counter looping and over the table counters, It has heavy top spin for those who can Top spin the ball, I love it on my Forehand and using a good blade makes it really fun

It’s fine for what it is but does not have the pop and speed of tensors but it is not advertised as such either. This is a Chinese rubber for Chinese play style.

The Hurricane 3 is a very sticky rubber great for precision players.
