Worked great on a new gaming PC BIOS
Worked great to reflash my brother in laws HP Gaming PC after a power failure during a BIOS update.I used CH341A programmer (software) v2.21+ and installed the windows drivers that comes with it. I only used it to verify I had the clip attached properly using the detect button. I then used asprogrammer for the actual communication of read / writing BIOS .bin to the chip. When you read and it’s all F’s just ensure the clip is attached properly.

Does What it Should
Does what it's supposed to do.Be aware you'll need to find instructions, drivers, and software on your own. None is included.

Software support instructions are lacking
Works fine but doesn't come with any instructions about which software to use alongside it. Other reviews mention using NeoProgrammer but be careful as I was only able to download that from a few websites and the downloads triggered ALL the red flags from my antivirus for Password Stealers and Trojans.I was able to use AsProgrammer which seems to be working fine and not triggering any antivirus flags.

Hours, days, weeks and months to figure it out.
You will spend weeks to months trying to figure out how to make it work. You will download, install, unzip, software programs, apps, driver's, you name it you'll never get a clear answer in making it work. Just word salad from techs that Love to talk way too much.

worked after doing the 3.3v mod
DO NOT USE THIS AS IS. You must fix 3.3v for most chips.

Works as intended.
The first one I ordered I think may of been a return. Packaging was not sealed like the next one. I had issues with the first unit and returned. 2nd unit was recognized by pc. I was able to read the eprom’s for my project.

Read before using 3.3v/5v, product needs repair before use.
Everyone who is buying these likely knows this device has a flaw- the 3.3v is not 3.3v it’s 5v. You have to make modifications to the board, if you were working with sensitive equipment it could potentially damage it. You can find basic instructions online if you just search the name and reference voltage repair. Otherwise the product would’ve gotten its fair share of stars, hard to believe they are still shipping these out when it’s such a known issue for so long.

Works perfectly
As long as you know what you’re doing, you can flash your bios to something open source just fine with this.
