Re review after having it for a while
Originally I gave this 5 stars. I was very happy with this watch! It looks great and love to see all the mechanics working. However after using it for some time it stopped working and it seems like the gears for winding it up have gotten loose or are flimsy so now there is no way to use it anymore, will see if I can get it fixed but seems to me to be some quality issues with the gears or assembly

Functional as a potty watch and it can get wet! Recommend!
Bought this watch as a potty watch to help my 5-year-old son remember to use the bathroom regularly at school. It was the fourth watch we bought him. All the others (see my other reviews) were not waterproof and lasted less than three weeks. He's had this watch for almost 5 months and it still works! Hallelujah! Would have given it five stars if the alarm function had a vibrate mode, which would be a much more discreet way to remind him to use the bathroom. The audible alarm was distracting for his teacher and class and ended up causing my son some anxiety when all his friends learned about his potty watch. Now he just wears the watch without the alarm function activated. Other parents might find that there are not enough alarms (only 3) to make this watch an effective potty watch for a full day, but it worked well enough. And it's waterproof/resistant! (Still, don't wear it in the bath or swimming, but it did get immersed in the tub and kept working unlike the others we tried.)

Nice watch, but...
I purchased this watch to commemorate a special time in my life, I want it to be a reminder of certain decisions I have made regarding 2022. Overall, I like it a whole lot. It got wet, once, and the face got foggy; it was not a big issue for me, so I decided to keep it. However, the two significant issues I have found, and the reason behind the two-star rating are:1. It runs too fast. On average, I find myself adjusting the time once a day.2. The hands do not glow in the dark. Today I place the watch directly under a flashlight. Its hands and the little rectangle marking the number 3 were glowing nicely afterward. Unfortunately, this effect lasted but a few minutes only. Will I return it? Maybe. I think it is too late to do, but I will check with the seller.Again, for the price, I can live with the fact that it does 80% of what I ask from it.

Old-school, analog watch won't break the bank
I have had this item now for a month. This is an inexpensive skeleton watch that lives up to its steampunk title: it needs to be wound up initially. Once wound, it is self-winding and runs just fine. It only takes ~10 twists to get it running, and otherwise keeps great time. Left unworn, even overnight, it will need to be reset and rewound. So it really is...a WATCH!My only complaint, albeit minor, is that it is tall as watches go, and rises very high off the wrist. This makes it difficult to wear with dress shirts with narrow cuffs. I do wear this watch to work, but only with those dress shirts with wider cuffs. Like I said, a minor issue. Should be 4.5 stars.

Exceeds my expectations!
I love mechanical watches. Watches that have a “soul” and are more than a plastic computer chip on your wrist. You can buy automatic watches for thousands of dollars and you can buy those that are really cheap. This watch is a very reasonably priced watch but it doesn’t look cheap! The selection of materials, the case and the interior details require craftsmanship which doesn’t come cheap. The leather band is more than just a reptile printed vinyl strap. This watch feels heavy and it is quality built. It is not just a heavy metal case with a tiny movement that you usually find in other watches in that price range. If you are looking for a watch that is quality built and not something that is only for the looks (like the ones with small printed hands), then this is the best value watch you can get.Well done Carrie Hughes, well done!

Almost as described...
It's a beautiful watch, but the leather it mentions for the watchband... unless the part between the man-made surfaces of the band are leather (most unlikely) the band is not leather. The black leather-like facing seems so thin that I fear it will wear out quickly; crack and peel. Otherwise the watch is just beautiful. Do hope the watchband will be replaceable though. This is my second self-winder by Alienwork and so far, I'm quite happy with them. Their appearances are unique and although I've only had the other one 2 weeks, they seem reliable. Unless something changes, these watches are a solid buy.

Nice looking, but the power saving feature is limiting.
I like the watch a lot. It's heavy duty and it looks great, especially when the display is lit. However, I didn't realize the watch was always in a power saving mode. There doesn't seem to be a way for the display to stay lit, you always have to press a button to get them to display. Does anyone know if there's a way to actually make the watch stay lit up?
