Excellent Color References
This large-sized book (8.5" x 12") is a scant 44 pages. However, that said, you get two pages of color reference notes, 1 page of bibliography, and 41 color plates with a single vehicle taking up the entire page. The artwork is wonderful. What I found especially useful was the single page detailing the various colors, shown as paint chips on a timeline. I have done a LOT of research on the various colors, and when they changed up, and I could have saved a LOT of time if I had stumbled upon this book earlier. The paint chip information is very useful for modellers (and gamers). The vehicles in the spotlight are:WWI A7V (July 1918)Grosstractor Krupp (September 1935)Pz I A (1936 camo)Pz I B (Poland 1939)Pz I A (France 1940)Neubaufahrzeuge (Norway 1940)Pz III E (France 1940)Pz IV D (France 1940)Stug III A (France 1940)Pz III F (Russiaq 1941)Pz III J "Short" (Russia Winter 1941-1942)Pz 38(t) (Russia 1942)Pz III J "Long" (Russia 1942)Pz II C (Africa 1941)Pz IV D (Africa 1941)Pz IV Tiger (Africa 1943)Pz IV F2 (Africa 1942)Pz III N (Africa 1943)Pz VI Tiger (Africa 1943)Stuf III F (Russia 1942)Pz V Panther D (Russia 1943)Pz VI Tiger (Russia 1943)Pz VI Tiger (Russia 1943)Pz IV G (Italy 1943)Pz VI Tiger (Italy 1944)Pz II L "Luchs" (France 1944)Pz IV H (France 1944)Pz VI Tiger (France 1944)Pz VI Tiger (France 1944)Pz VI Tiger II (France 1944)Pz VI Tiger II (Poland 1944)Captured Sherman M4A2 (East Germany 1945)Pz IV J (Poland 1944)Pz VI Tiger II (Ardennes 1944)Pz V G Panther (East Prussia 1944)Pz V G Panther (East Prussia 1944)Pz V G Panther (Berlin 1945)Pz V G Panther (Berlin 1945)Pz V G Panther (Hungary 1945)Pz V G Panther (Germany 1945)Pz VI Tiger II (Germany 1945)As I said, the artwork takes up an entire page, so no squinting to see the details. And each page has the color chips that comprise that camo pattern, also helpful.Could the book be any better? Well, yes. At 41 pages, what is included is supurbly done. But you will note from the list above, there are various vehicles missing from the list. Not that the collection needs to be complete, but there are large gaps. Not a single Jagdpanzer of any sort (and there were many models to choose from). Not a single Self-Propelled Gun. The Pz 38(t) was included but not the 35 (t). The artist covered the basics: Pz I, II, III, IV, V and VI (both Tiger I and Tiger II) ... but not much else (although I was very happy to see the "exotic" Neubaufahrzeuge - quite the rarity, only a few were ever made). So a solid 4-star review. For modellers (and gamers) who could use the color chip references, this is a very handy volume. Final Note: Not sure why or how, but I picked up this book for just over $7, so it must have been on special sale for some reason. At that price, this is a MUST for your collection.

Excellent illustrations of German WW2 armor camouflage
This book is basicly a book of well done illustrations of typical camoflague of German AFV (Armored Fighting Vehicles) from the early 1930s to 1945. The illustrations are well done. However, its' biggest fault is there is no text explaining the names or basic reasons behind the various camoflague schemes developed for the German Panzers from their beginning to the end of the war - that is why I think it deserves only 3 stars instead of 5. There should be at least some basic text explaining the Germans thinking on painting and camouflaging of their tanks (Panzers) and other AFVs

Not a bad reference
This is not an in-depth book in anyway, but I still appreciate having it in my library. Excellent art work and good suggestions for painting guides. I only wish he had give is five view drawings instead of just the port side, but it is what it is. I like it.

Very nice color drawings of WW II German panzers The let down is that it is only the drawings. I had hoped for more indepth coverage and at least some photos that the drawings represented. If you are looking for color pictures of your favorite panzer this book will fit the bill. If you want more look elsewhere.

Not what I had hoped for
Pretty disappointing. This book offers nothing new or of much interest. There is a single page of text giving a general overview of paints--too general to be of any interest to me. There is a page with a chart showing years when paints came into use and some color patterns. Again, nothing new. There are 41 pages dating from 1918 ( a single A7V) to the end of the war--most during the war years. Each of these pages show a single vehicle from the left-side only with a unit designation at the bottom. On the plus side, the drawings are nicely detailed and come on good quality, glossy paper.

great book, very informative
great book, very informative, some colours are not very true but I'm guessing it's the print, no drama as the colours come with enamel reference numbers for modelling. I thought I knew quite a bit about the German armour camouflage and still found some new to me stuff. nice buy, recommend it.

Excellent colour images for an invaluable guide to scale modellers
This is invaluable for scale modellers. A good guide with full colour images, contrary to some books that give B/W photos and describe the colours!
