Dr. Warikoo hits home
As someone working in the field of admission this read requires a look in the mirror. Warikoo provides great historical and social context that defines how we got here in a creative way, then continues to unpack the inherent issues in a system that furthers privilege at best and promotes inequality at it's worst. Provocative and educational, this is a great read with an interesting take on where we should go in selective college admissions in the US and UK.

insightful, gives a nuanced view on diversity on campuses, and written in an engaging style
An important topic for all of us to understand. How are our future leaders thinking about race and diversity. Particularly considering how our election campaign was run in the US, and the Brexit vote in the UK.While obvious that students at colleges are interested in diversity, I was intrigued to learn the nuances of what students are trying to get from their diversity experience, as long as it is not at their expense. The author connects her research and learnings with an interesting personal story. It leaves a mark and worth a read.

Are the elites thinking diversity or lip service
I had the privilege to meet the author and dive deeper into her perspectives and research. As eye opening as the book, she was impressive with her insights and the perspectives of students she brings to light. She brings a rude awakening to a delicate topic of race, merit and privilege.

Must read!
To read about sensitive topics such as race was very informative and much appreciated for a university student such as myself trying to understand the differences in various academic institutions.
