It makes coffee and tea, Its just what I need!
Had it for about 2weeks now, and so far it does everything as promised with no leaks! My biggest complaints about it are as follows...1. The dripper tray under the hot water pour is not attached to the base in any way, leaving me to have to carefully wipe around it, or the pieces will go flying.2. The carafe lid does not always align correctly to the pour spout, making the coffee drip out to the side.3. You have to tilt the carafe all the way over (almost upside down) to get the last cup (annoying, but not the worst)4. The coffee takes forever to pour with the lid on, and I have adjusted, but not moved on.5. I have noticed that on the bottom of every cup there is a dark "sludge" for lack of a better word, its not gross, just new to me. My husband thinks its because we are brewing the coffee to strong. Probably why it takes so long to pour, haha.6. I worry about all the steam as if wafts up over the electronic features, as I worry that it will someday become a problem with their ability to function.A few things to love...1. Even though it can be hard to pour water into the basin, the lid is shaped just so, so that if you miss the water will not spill over behind the machine.2. If you love HOT coffee, this machine is for you. Same with the tea. No idea how long this will keep up, but its been great so far.3. The filter does a great job, not a ground yet to be found in my cup!4. It looks good on my counter!5. Though I thought I would use the timing option more, it is still really easy to use and set up. It also functioned marvelously.Overall the husband and I agree that we have good feelings about the machine, and rated it at four stars because of a few minor things that we felt could have been improved upon with little thought by the manufacturer. Hope that was helpful!

Good for hot water, not as great for coffee
I bought this because we wanted an instant hot water dispenser, which our previous Mr. Coffee BVMC-PSTX91 Optimal Brew 10-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker, Black/Stainless Steel didn't have. That is a great feature of the Cuisinart, and we are probably drinking more tea as a result since it's more convenient now. It's also great for filling a French press. The Cuisinart also has replaceable charcoal water filters. However, after using the Cuisinart for a while, I'm wishing I'd bought a dedicated hot water dispenser instead and kept the Mr. Coffee. The features the Mr. Coffee had that the Cuisinart is missing are:Basket filters - much easier to use than the triangular #4 filters the Cuisinart uses, which are harder to insert and have to be filled in the unit since they don't stand up on their own.A removable reservoir, so the Cuisinart is much harder to fill and impossible to drain if overfilled. The brew light doesn't stay on after brewing is finished. The nice thing about the Mr. Coffee is that since the light stays on for a few hours, if someone made coffee already, you can tell that it's still hot since the carafe keeps it warm for that long. With no light, it's impossible to tell with the Cuisinart if any coffee in the pot is still hot without testing it.Also, with both the coffee maker and the hot water dispenser in the same unit, if one of them breaks down, the entire thing would have to be replaced. When that happens I will probably go back to the Mr. Coffee and a separate dedicated hot water dispenser.

loved it but first had to be replaced and then ...
This is my first Cuisinart coffee/hot water product but my third Cuisinart coffee maker. Alas, the reason I'm writing is because I just had to "order" a fourth. I had two Grind & Brews...loved it but first had to be replaced and then second one died after warranty. I decided to go with this model. I purchased it last July 31 and it has been having electrical issues in the last two months. We were unsure if we forgot to hit the brew button or if one of us turned it off inadvertently. No, there is a definite issue. I called Cuisinart, and since it's under warranty, I get a replacement. It will cost me $10 as well as the cost of shipping back my current one once the new one arrives. I just have a problem with that. I figured the $10 would cover shipping but they said only of new one. If I don't send back the old, it waives my warranty. I asked them instead to make a quality product. Seems like things should last longer than they do nowadays. I just switched out a 32-year-old microwave that actually still works, we had a Jenn-Air for 24 years and our refrigerator is about that old. However, newer products such as a front-load washer and a dishwasher and these coffee pots don't want to have long lives. Saddens me and my wallet.

Almost Perfect!
Big coffee drinkers here! We wear out coffee makers in pretty short order, mostly the heating element. Gets pretty expensive when you purchase higher dollar products! The Thermal Carafe with auto shut off feature appeals for that reason, though I like a steaming hot cup and think it could actually be hotter- it does retain heat for a few hours. I really like the hot water on demand option! Hot beverages, oatmeal, etc..it's a really nice bonus, simple feature locks the lever until use for safety purposes. I also like the fact each side has it's own charcoal filter (can buy those in bulk on Amazon) I personally use filtered water as well. And I find I much prefer to fill the reservoir from the front of the unit as opposed to the back, much easier than my prior unit, also a Cuisinart.I gave this Cuisinart four out five stars for couple reasons; the on/off buttons are brilliantly lit up while the clock is not at all. A little back-light would be nice. And also I'd like a unit that brews at a higher temperature. *I would add it does not have the Bold Brew option of my prior unit. Not a deal breaker but a side-note for those who might be looking for that feature. Over-all, I'm a pretty happy little caffeine addict with this unit so far!

Read directions for settings before use.
Love it. Like the fact that it keeps coffee warm for 4 hrs. at a time and you can reduce temperature as it gets emptier. Also convenient to boil water for tea or hot chocolate on the other side. Only thing I wish it had is single coffee maker on the side in this red coloured Cuisinart like the silver one does.

Good product, but could have been better
Overall, I really like the concept. Have had the unit for 18 months. Hot water side stopped working at about month twelve. Coffee side still works well. Other complaints is the overall build quality is poor, power cable is way too short and the case leaks water when you lift it or move it. Would not recommend this product or buy it again.

Nunca llegó, nos regresaron el dinero.
Por ser importación, la aduana no dejo que la importaran, así que nunca tuvimos la oportunidad de probarla. Ni modo

.
Thought the result could be hotter, after a few months, developed a bit of a leak/dribble in the front right corner, after heater starts to shut down after heating the water, no biggie for us, just wipe it up. Has been doing this now for 3 yrs I believe. Over all the equipment works for what we wanted it for.

Pretty decent
Keeps my coffee nice and warm for about 4-6 hours during the day which is exactly what I needed. It brews quickly and makes good coffee. I do wish the coffee pot had a hole large enough for my (rather little) hand to fit in to clean, it rather inconvenient that it doesn't gauge how much water is going into the pot so you have to guess how much water is enough until you pour it in the actually unit and the other issue I have is that in order to get all the contents from the coffee pot out, you need to tip it completely upside down (several times) so it can be a little messy. Overall it was a good enough purchase!
