Spelling for Minecrafters: Grade 1

Well worth the purchase for minecrafters
I ordered this workbook for my son to supplement during the emergency distance learning of the last quarter of 1st grade. He’s not a fan or writing, but is really into Minecraft. He said it made school at home more fun because it was kind of like playing Minecraft. As a parent, I was happy to see him sit down on his own to work in his workbook.

It’s a must if your child is having difficulty in school
I am so happy to have found this my son is having trouble wanting to do some school work so I bought this. Best choice I have made let’s him express himself and learn since he loves Minecraft. If your child is not wanting to do work get this book it’s great!

Great practice!
These have been AMAZING for my first grader. “Homework” time used to be the biggest struggle (and after teaching all day, the last thing I want to do is struggle with my own kids every afternoon). While homework isn’t really given, he needs the extra practice. He actually is excited to complete a page out of each book after school! This teacher highly recommends!

More engaging for reluctant learners than generic workbooks
My kids (going into first and fourth grade) are huge Minecraft fans, but reluctant to do anything resembling school during the summer. After a friend mentioned that she'd had good luck using these for her kid, I picked up Reading, Writing, and Math workbooks for their appropriate grade levels, and we've set up a system where they get 15 minutes of screen time per finished page. Is it a little easy? Yes. Does it mean that they get up and work on this on their own? YES. Does it help when I have to work all day and can only carve out five minutes here and there to check their work? YES. I've bought a half dozen various grade level workbooks over the past year trying to get them to engage with the material and they have no interest, but framing it with Minecraft made all the difference.

Way overpriced
So I ordered a half-dozen minecraft work books from 1st through 3rd grade for my boys.THIS specific one is much thinner than the others and the content repeats, over and over and over with the same spelling words. Repetition is good for young readers BUT for the $$$ I paid I expected more. My boys have 12 words per week throughout the school year which is literally HUNDREDS of spelling words. But this only covers maybe 100.Bummed. Kids love it but he's going to blow through it in a month or so. RATHER than other similar priced Minecraft books which are 300+ pages, cover spelling, and will take much longer to complete.

Surprisingly Very Good
I had minimal expectations for this workbook - I just wanted something that would entice my kid to write down words, and I figured Minecraft would do it. This workbook actually covers a few different skills and progresses from front to back, starting with short vowel sounds and moving on to more difficult phonics patterns. These phonics skills alternate with sight word practice. It's really nicely printed, too. I'm using this book to transition from the handwriting copywork we've been doing all summer to the composition work he needs to do this school year (entering 1st).

A great mix up to our homeschool routine
While we have lots of curriculum for our homeschooling needs, its been nice to add in some workbooks that inspire my 6 yr old. She really loves these minecraft books and it was easy to ask her to work on a couple pages a day. This version was pretty easy material for her (1st grade advanced reader), but it still helped clean up some of her handwriting, punctuation and spelling practice.

Not stellar, but appealing
It's pretty easy to coax my kid to do some spelling practice with this, though it's not really a stellar spelling book. It goes a bit up & down in my opinion when it comes to the difficulty level of the pages, and we've found one or two mistakes. But overall it seems pretty suited to the grade level and it works fine as a supplement.

Holds his interest and he tries more with this.
A great product for the very hard to motivate child. Doing homework is a constant fight with my 8 year old. He loves Minecraft so it’s a bit easier to get him to do this work. •A bit easier • not easy. I think because Minecraft is something he thinks is fun and it is familiar to him and it holds his interest more it is possible that he feels more confident he will succeed at knowing the answers so he is more willing to try solving these problems.

Buy this product!!
Excellent buy for my niece 6 years old, bought one for her brother 8 years old as well. She likes the pictures to match the words. She uses this outside of school and it helps her to write. Love that it’s minecraft content so it makes learning fun. Would absolutely buy again!

Perfect for my son
I bought this for my younger son who has zero interest in school work. Since he’s obsessed with Minecraft, this workbook series is perfect for him.
