This is a great product that should last many years
Overall:This is a great product that should last many years. It is worth the price and looks like it can hold a lot of chain weight. Its very thick so I won't have any trouble hitting plates while trying to tighten it up. It simply perfect for what I want to do with it. And by using this product, I can avoid shipping overpriced "weightlifting chains" to my home. I will describe how I set it up below in case it helps give ideas to others. However, this appears to be a versatile product that can be adapted to meet your needs.Chains used:1.) I already had 4 x 4ft. sections of lighter chain for each side. I used large round quick link connectors to connect them to the new Chain Collars. This added 10 lbs per side.2.) I purchased 2 more 12 ft lengths of 3/8 GR43 Hi Test for just under 100 dollars at 3.99 per ft. Each of these 12 ft length of chain adds 15.8 lbs to each side. The 12 foot sections were folded in half so that they were hanging down 6 feet. Then they were attached to the quick links that were already holding the lighter chain. Then the extra 2 feet of heavy chain at the bottom (6 foot vs 4 foot for the lighter ones) were folded back up to the 1/2 way part of the chain (2 feet midpoint) and secured with the oval quick link connectors. This was done since the bottom half of the chain is the only part that actually hits the floor when I do bench press and lifts off at the top of the rep. So it should allow more weight difference which is really what I am after. Somehow I was finally able to fit all 4 small and 4 large chain links all in the smaller oval quick link. See the pictures for more details.Weight:Top of the Rep (around +50 lbs. total or 25 lbs. per side if the whole chain lifts off the ground): At the top of the rep, almost all of the chain seems to be off the ground. This should add around 50 pounds to whatever weight I had on the Olympic bar since that is the total weight of all the chains. Just to review, for each side, its 4 of the lighter 4 foot lengths of chains which all together weight a total of 10 pounds + 1 of the 12 foot lengths of the heavier chain which add around 15 lbs to each side. 10+15 = roughly 25 per side. Now there is some weight from the collars and the quick links. However, there is still some of the chain on the floor. It possible that its more like 20 depending on how much chain weight is still on the floor.Bottom of the Rep (around +20 lbs. total or 10 lbs. per side) : At the bottom of the rep, the 4 small chains are around 1/2 way off the ground. This means they add around 5 lbs to each side. However, only 1/3 of the heavier chain is off the ground since I doubled up the bottom 2/3 of by folding it in half. So about 5 lbs. of the 15 lbs. chain remain in the air on each side with the rest on the floor.End result:While its just a rough estimate and it varies, there seems to be around a 20- 30 lbs. difference between the bottom of the rep and the top which seems pretty significant. Of course, all of this depends on how weigh your bench is off the ground, how large your rep range is during bench, how low your arms go during bench, and how the chain piles up on the floor. However, I find that my current setup gives a very solid and balanced feel to the bar.Quality:This is a Great Product. It appears to be made like they made things long ago. It will probably outlast me and my weightlifting equipment. This is not a cheap plastic imitation part. I think this could be used for a commercial gym its so study looking. And if something ever does go wrong with it, it seems easy enough to fix most things that could go wrong with it. You would just need a welder, wirebrush, paint. However, it states lifetime warranty anyway. The collar tightens up very nicely and sturdy and there is no need to over tighten it. It seems to fit my standard Olympic bar perfectly.Shipping / Packaging:I ordered it on January 21 and it showed up on January 27th. It was well packaged in a nice box with the business owner's picture. The parts were wrapped in plastic wrap.Paint: Mine were pained black which is fine with me. I might hit them with the clear coat since I scratched some paint jamming it into the quick link (one quick link from the store was a bit tighter than the other even though same part number). I had a bit of trouble overall jamming all 8 links into the quick links but I got it done. So if you buy oval quick links from the store to attach the chain, make sure to test them all in the configuration you intend to use.Summary:I just got it; however, it seems to be exactly what I was looking for. It gave me the freedom to use heavy or light chain. Its very sturdy and made with a lot of room. All of this means that you can choose however you want to configure the chain and then buy the chain and the parts from local stores. I simply brought one of the collars to the store with a small section of the chain I already had. Then I tested out what I wanted to do there in the store. Now I just have to figure out if I'm going to hang these up somewhere when I am not using them or simply leave them on the ground.

Worth the extra money
I love these things. The guy who makes them included a personally hand written letter about his products and that means something to me. Plus these things are great and built to last. I bought a 14 foot logging chain from the big box hardware and had them cut it in half. It has hooks on each end and each chain weighs 10 lbs. The hooks latch onto these collars and works great. These are a bit pricey but couldn't find anything cheaper for same quality. You don't want to skimp here as your safety is at stake. You want collars that hold all the time. Not some times. These also can be used with the linebacker landmine squat attachment for loading one side at a time when you're training alone and the attachment is off the ground. Once screwed down these things won't budge.

Fits my 2" Olympic & Fat bars and it WILL NOT BUDGE!!!
These are the most solid, well built weight collars that I have EVER seen! And the fact that I can dual purpose use them by hanging add-on weight chains?! That just sky rocketed them above the rest!It takes a grand total of 1/2 second to recognize the quality of these chain collars. And that's from straight opening the box & witnessing the care they take in packaging their product. Next you feel the weight picking it up. And by the time I removed the bubble wrap, I was sold that this was a fantastic purchase! They fit easily onto both my 7' Olympic & 7' Fat bars. Both have 2" weight sleeves and these collars slide on with room to spare! The chain hangers on the bottom work for not just screw closure carabiners but also fit my 4" carabiners as well. And the built in T-screw collar locks are TOP NOTCH! Talk about easy to crank down and crank down HARD! So what if that screw bolt leaves a mark.... your weight plates will cover it! Besides, you're lifting weights, not finishing an antique table. This stuff's supposed to get dinged up and scratched or you are OBVIOUSLY NOT USING IT!Nothing left to say but..... "THANK YOU!" I'm grateful to have stumbled onto Gorilla Strength's ad & looking forward to the workouts to come!

Solid AF!
My facility is used by athletes who run, throw and bang- and that goes for the equipment as well. I pay more for equipment that serves a purpose and takes a beating. These collars fit that bill - they are built to last, useful for our strength needs, and aesthetically pleasing. I like that I’m able to attach chains, carabiners and leader chains quickly between sets if needed. I also like that they’re quick to tighten and loosen if I need to remove the collars completely for any reason.A great, well made product and the price is very fair- get ‘em before the secret is out and the price goes up!

This American made product will last a lifetime.
I bought this Olympic weight clamp to put on my bench and squat bar. I wanted something of good build and came across all the plastic clamps. I found this welded steel clamp and as a bonus it had a loop for hanging chains and additional weight to your Olympic weight bar. That was a nice detail, the welding in the steel is solid and I would trust it to hold several hundred pounds of additional weight. The finish on this is superb, it has a black coating that looks like it will hold up well to corrosion. All in all I have nothing bad to say about the product. The owner of the company even sent a personal note thanking me for purchasing their product. That kind of customer service is rare. Very happy, will be purchasing Gorilla Strength Equipment again.

great product
the only reason I put 4 stars is because I wish the sleeve was 1/4 " longer to give the bar on the screw a little more clearance from the plates. Otherwise, I love these
