Grow Your Own Tortoise Grass

This is super easy and fun to grow. My students loved growing it and my tortoise loved eating it!

So easy to use! I was hesitant and questioned this at first, but the grass sprouted and lasted. My tortoise loved it. I do recommend this good value for your money, especially if you want your tortoise to eat grass that has not been fertilized.

Good for indoor growing, didn't do well out in the Florida sunshine.

I adjusted the set up a little bit which I think helped with growth. Instead of stirring in the seeds with the soil provided, I emptied the container by 1/3 and poured the seeds on top of the remaining in the container. I watered it to make sure all seeds were saturated with moisture then added the 1/3 soil on top and re-watered. All other instructions I followed. Within 3 days I had growth popping through the soil. Growth was fast. The only downside is that not all seeds germinated but I think I got good results.

Tortoise did not like it.

My turtles love this

It grew to 4 inches in 5 days! My baby Hermann’s tortoise has enjoyed snacking on it and walking through it.
