I have no idea why the kids wanted this. Both of my girls do dance and gym. This product is more of a novelty item than anything else. They have not benefited in their extra curricular activities by having this product. Be very careful of which floor surface you plan on spinning upon. A delicate wood floor can be destroyed if one piece of sand is trapped under The TurnBoard.

Looks to be of good quality. I've seen a couple of less expensive models but the plastic didn't look as sturdy as this one. It is a gift, so the dancer has not tried it yet.
