Sandusky Lee WS361874-C Industrial Welded Wire Shelving, 800lbs Capacity, 36" Width x 74" Height x 18" Depth, Chrome

First, a note about construction/assembly (NO assembly instructions arrived). Each heavy chrome wire shelf (weighing about 11.5 pounds per shelf) has a metal cylinder at each of its four corners. The round metal leg pieces have indentations about every inch or so; these indentations go uniformly around the whole leg piece. In order to secure the shelves onto the leg pieces, two short semi-circular plastic pieces are used at each corner. They are placed opposite each other, in order to entirely encircle the leg piece at that point. These plastic pieces have raised notches on the inside that will fit exactly into the indentations on the leg pieces. There is a "right" and a "wrong" way to put the plastic pieces into place: Be sure to put them in so that the raised notch is nearer the bottom than the top. The shelf is then lowered onto the plastic pieces, which fit snugly into the cylinders at each corner of the shelf. I should add that each 74-inch leg is composed of two 37-inch pieces, each with female screw threads, and there is a male-male threaded metal connector piece that is used to connect the two 37-inch leg pieces.Result: This shelving unit would likely be quite solid; HOWEVER, it would also be quite heavy (55 pounds, more or less). And if one ever needed to move it after it was assembled, it probably would be quite unwise to try to pick it up by lifting up on a shelf!! (Lifting up on a shelf of the assembled unit could perhaps pull the shelf up off the plastic corner pieces, and the plastic pieces could even get lost or broken.)Now, the reason for my headline: This shelving is shipped in just one corrugated cardboard box--and it is an extremely heavy package, about 55 or 60 pounds!! Inside the box, the 4 shelves and the leg pieces are just wrapped together with plastic wrap. This type of packaging, IMO, is a virtual recipe for package damage during transit (and possible loss of parts). The manufacturer really should have packaged this thing in two boxes, not just one.Now, my personal experience: My package arrived very beat up, heavily taped, and MISSING some crucial parts--specifically, two of the eight 37-inch leg pieces were missing, as were two of the four male-male union pieces that were needed to attach the leg pieces together. So, I could not actually assemble the unit. (I did try out the process of attaching a corner of one shelf to a leg piece, and it attached smoothly and easily.)I called Amazon and asked whether there was a way I could get the manufacturer of the shelving to send me the missing pieces, without me being charged extra for it. Amazon Customer Service told me they have no way to leg me do this. They offered me three options: One option would be to return the entire unit and get a full refund. Or else, I could order another shelving unit; take the pieces I needed out of the new package; and then return the pieces that I didn't use. The third option was that if I could find replacements for the missing parts at a local hardware store, they could reimburse me for that cost--NOT a realistic option in this particular case, since the parts are specific and specialized.I chose to return the entire shelving unit for a full refund. (Thankfully, since this was a "defective product" return, they refunded my rather hefty shipping costs as well as the price of the thing!)In researching product reviews related to this shelving, I noticed that an Amazon reviewer of another (wider) size of very similar Sandusky chrome wire shelving had also received a beat-up package with missing parts. This reviewer had chosen the "order a replacement" option, and the replacement arrived also with parts missing!! (Of course, this was a one-star review.)I myself am giving this product two stars because if it had arrived intact, it just might have met our needs nicely (though with the caveats noted above, e.g. move it only by lifting on leg pieces).

I looked all over locally for reasonably priced 24" deep shelves and struck out. Some local places carried these shelves in the 18" deep, and I really liked the look, so I order them through Amazon, since they had the best price. These shelves are nice and solidly made. The instructions for assembling are simple. I ended up ordering additional shelves to add to the 4 that came with it, and it was easy enough to re-adjust the height when I added the additional shelves. My only reason for giving these shelves a 4 instead of 5 is the packaging. As others have mentioned, it comes in a simple, cheap cardboard box, which was beat up and ripped by the time it was delivered to me. Had there been much more travel damage to the box, the bag of plastic sleeves and the loose single sheet instructions would probably have been lost. One of the shelves was even dented (I put that one on the bottom and faced the dent toward the wall, as it wasn't enough damage to go through the hassle of returning.) Sandusky should invest in some better packaging, or double box it. Lastly, I'll also mention, I contacted Sandusky directly through their website to ask some questions before I purchased through Amazon, and they were quick in response, friendly and helpful.

I love these shelves for my mouse tanks. One arrived with a bent piece and I had to hammar it right. The price has shot up for some reason ? I bought for around $116 now its $173 ?I would definitely buy again for $116Will not for $173.

Sturdy, high quality shelving unit. Fairly easy to put together. You do need two people to get the top two shelves on. The product that arrived is a light green/blue color rather than chrome as listed. It is fine because it is in the garage, and actually looks good there. But if I were putting it in the house, I would have returned it because of the color.

The price of $90.00 is fair. Note that all 4 shelves from the 18" X 36" X 72" unit don't have the underside support truss. The shelves seem very sturdy with a heavier wire used for its tier of shelving compared to non NSF shelving. The welds are a bit sloppy as some have chromed over splatters that can be sharp when handling in some places, but nothing a file cant knock off if needed. Be weary of receiving them undamaged. Unit is very lightly packaged compared to its total weight of @ 45 lbs. To receive it without any defects is a gamble. Amazon's Awesome Customer Service fixed me right up in less than a week total when i did encounter a few damaged shelves when i received my units.

The Sandusky Lee Shelves arrived quickly after my order even though I selected free shipping. The packaging was excellent and when I removed the box their was no damage, instructions were provided, and installation was a breeze with no tools required. Took me less than 30 minutes for complete installation. For the price you just can not beat the deal provided by Amazon. I always do my research on line to get the best deal and buying this item through amazon saved my about 30%.

I’v purchased many shapes, sizes and brands of this style shelving over the years. The quality of this product is as good or better than any I’v used, but this was packed more securely and shipped faster than anyone ever. Saving this listing for the next shelving need for sure.

Durable stand with the ability to hold heavy aquariums and animal tanks as well as plant. Shelves can be moved to different heights to fit your needs. We were able to attach lights underneath the top shelf to shine down on the plants and our gecko tank. Keeps everything compact together on one shelf.

I bought one of these, assembled it... and then ordered 5 more. Absolutely love them. The mesh shelves have the slightest bit of flex in them if you push in the centre of a shelf, but they're not made of steel - they don't need to be. They're plenty strong enough for the heaviest things I can store on them. If you want to store concrete slabs on them, you probably can, just don't stack them all in the centre of a shelf.

Very easy to assemble if you're a Hands-On guy if you're not get somebody who is... sturdy heavy duty same kinds of stands they use in restaurant coolers... Very good quality product.

This is the shelf I am looking for. Perfect size, strong, easy to setup and adjust to my need. Highly recommended.
