A beast!
Just be aware the this is not compatible with the One+ battery range! I ended up having to buy the bigger 36V battery and charger which did make the expensive! That said, it is a great tool and I certainly dont regret getting it! It definitely lives up to the claim of being as powerful as a petrol chainsaw!

Why Did I Not Buy Sooner!
This tool was a complete surprise. It is super strong, cuts through 10" logs like a hot knifethrough butter. It's soooo quiet, doesn't smell of fuel and starts on a button. Used it hard for a good couple of hours on a 5ah battery. Will never go back to a petrol driven saw.

Much nicer than petrol versions
This chainsaw listing is just for the tool (no battery and no charger) which may be disappointing to some, but I think what ryobi have done with their tools is excellent- the batteries are interchangeable so you could have a collection of 4 Ryobi tools and only need 1 battery/charger. It saves on leads and also the wastage of batteries when the tools life is up. It also means that the price of the tool is slightly cheaper than it would be with the battery and charger. It may seem like an extra expense to buy separately but it is much better in the long run, for the wallet and for the environment. It is very quick and easy to set up, and I have learnt that I much prefer an electric chainsaw to a petrol one for a few reasons- less mess, less failed starts, no smell and less expense and trips to the fuel station with my can. This chainsaw is surprisingly powerful. It is quite a small chainsaw so It won’t be capable of cutting a 200 year old oak tree down but it is great for cutting small logs and bits and pieces around the garden. Great value tool and ryobi have gained a life long customer.

Nice cleans cuts and instant power when you need it, much less mess compared to petrol one's.
I've not had chance to use it as much as I would have liked due to the weather. I've used a Husqvarna 435 petrol one before and that's the go to one I use normally, this one being electric is obviously instant start, just need chain oil but no messy petrol to deal and mix to the correct ratio, can just remove the cover and start cutting. It says it lasts for around 70 cuts per charge so there's no problem using it in the garden for smaller stuff. You also don't get any fumes that you normally get with petrol ones. The included chain doesn't appear to cut as well as the chain that we use on our Husky's. Probably just needs a better quality chain. You do have to buy a separate battery and charger as it's not compatible with the one+ range.
