Cultural misunderstandings lie at the heart of the world’s problems
Should be required reading in B-Schools & even 4 year universities , as it does a great job addressing the challenges of working, communicating & living in a multi-cultural world as we do. Dr Erin Meyer is fabulous at explaining this complex topic in relatable terms.

Great Information and Practical Advice
I heard the author of the book speak and couldn't resist getting his book. Lots of good information I never would have thought about, being from the US. I travel to some developing countries and using his advice really helps with connecting to the locals. No more "Ugly American."

A must for managers of remote teams
This book helped me to understand the expectations and actions of the members of my remote team. When issues came up, I referred to its pages, asking myself if this was simply a cultural issue, which in most cases it was. I highly recommend this book to managers and coworkers alike, but it's a must for managers.

Useful, practical examples for working in a global workplace
This is a useful book if you work in a global workplace environment. It provides countless useful examples of actual stories and challenges faced by individuals in their companies, and tips on how to overcome said challenges. It covers a wide range of company types and locations, and interaction types between people from different regions. The real practical, eye-opening information is through Erin's country mapping charts, where she plots (based on interviews and research) close to 20 different countries across 8 different factors that explain how these cultures build trust, communicate, collaborate, persuade, make decisions, etc. When you see the countries plotted out on these various scales, it leads to some quick "ah ha" moments that you can take back to your workplace and make minor tweaks in your approach that could make meaningful differences.I was between 4-5 stars because I'd have loved more statistical analysis or other published research in some of these examples, to supplement the anecdotal examples. Overall, a brief, useful, and enjoyable read.
