SOTO Amicus Stove with or without Igniter Camping Stove - Superior Under Windy Conditions, Shock Resistant, and Low-cost With High-end Performance Stove

Not quite as light as my old Snow Peak, but that one was not self igniting. Also a lot more stable with a pot on top. The tiny bit of extra weight saved time and added convenience. The stove works great, and the flame adjusts nicely. The pot was the one cooking vessel we took on a five-day trek. We used it for light cooking as well as boiling water. The lid is a great feature. Much more stable than the lids on my titanium set, and the slit made it easy to drain the water off pasta. The non-stick surface worked well and stood up to sautéing wild mushrooms.

I,ve had this stove for years and it’s never failed, even with cold winds. I like how it has 4 elements to stabilize the pot. Don’t buy that overpriced jetboil. For reference I do a lot of car camping and this thing is always clutch. Great quality. I think it’s made in Japan. I’ll take that anyday over anything made in China. The only issue is the burner doesn’t work with some little propane tank adapters. But that’s a very small gripe.

Great backpacking stove that heats up quickly

I really like this little set. I got the 550ml cup and I could boil 500ml of water in about 3 minutes even in cold weather. The cup and lid it came with are very light and rugged. And I liked the built in ignition and flame control valve. The ignition usually takes 2-3 strikes to light so don’t be too concerned if it doesn’t light on the first try.At least with the 550ml, do NOT extend the handles on the cup until the flame is off and you are ready to move it. If you do the cup can become dangerously unbalanced. Speaking of balance, I would highly recommend getting the little snap-on tripod for your butane canister as this system can get wobbly on uneven ground.Also be sure to place your cup in the exact center of the stove or flames can reach out around the bottom of the cup and melt the plastic coating on the handles as happened to mine. They are still perfectly usable, but are just a bit deformed now. For better or worse just as good as the MSR pocket rocket 2 though. Very light. Very reliable. Highly recommended.

I like the four supports on the burner vs three on many other stoves. Nice and light and compact. Was a bit disappinted in the pot. Sure it's light, but it has a plastic cover so I could not use it over a fire. Maybe I don’t need to but it’s nice to have the option. Seems like it may dent easily but it is very light which is a bonus. Not worth the extra $15 in my opinion, but it works ok on the stove if it is just going to be your only piece. I might just get the stove alone if I had to do it over since I have some other cookware, but the still pot is nice to have. The stove does not fit into the pot with a 230g canister, but the smaller canister would fit with the stove.

Compact and packs with a small fuel can.starter works well.boil water in 2 min.excellent kit.

Have only tested it at home. It boiled water very fast and I was able to control temp down to a simmer. Very light and compact. Looking forward to using this in the woods soon

This stove is amazing!. After reading a ton of reviews trying to decide on which one to buy i finally went with this one based on all of the glowing reviews. I gotta say....I am extremely happy with kits my choice. This thing is awesome!

Honestly the best stove I’ve used. It came with me on my PCT thru hike, though not the lightest, it performed great in the wind and is very fuel efficient. Simmering is quite easy on the stove as well.

extremst guter Brenner... klein, leicht und brennt äußerst effizient, 2 personen haben zB 1 woche mit einer 450er kartusche während einer woche kochen können, würde diesen brenner immer wieder kaufen. preis leistung ist ausserdem nicht zu schlagen, also wirklich top

Für den Preis ist das ein unfassbar gutes Set. Ich habe es ab sofort auf meinen Trekkingtouren dabei. Der Brenner lässt sich sehr gut regeln, auch wenn der Regler des viel teuren Windmaster noch besser ist. Für meine Bedürfnisse ist dies das perfekte Set-Up.
