Yes is as good as the reviews say will keep me going for ever - hoping to apply at least one of the many technique at next session. One or two techniques are a little indistinguishable from others but that could be my inexperience. All works demonstrated show a master at work, highly inspirational. Study Study and will be on my way.

I love this book. There are beautiful pictures and lots of good information for both the beginner and the experienced oil painter.

A great book and a must for any artist that is trying to learn how to paint the human figure in a creative style. The pictures are a little out dated but it is a old book

This Richard Schmid book purchase replaced my copy lost since the early 70s ... I value for its description of painting tools, materials and their behaviors.
