The theif captured in my video has a great taste for quality. This purchase is a replacement for the exact model. I've owned this tool for several years and as a woodworker hobbyist, it's worked hard and often. This tool has turned a much hated job into an enjoyable task. The only complaint is the dust collection bag on its own could use some improvement. If used with a vacuum or dust collection system, I could see the value. Runs pretty smooth and quite for an electric sander and cuts your valuable time sanding way down.

I got this to replace my old Dewalt sander that lasted me for years. This one looks like my original except it runs and sands faster without vibrating you hand, So much better

I used it to sand a part of wood floor, with more than 6 hours of sanding per day for 6 days. I think it really held up and did the job well. Pros: - Powerful and reliable. - Variable speed, which comes handy based on the condition of the surface - Great dust suction/collection when connected to a shop vac (I didn’t use the dust bag that comes with it). - Easy to handle and control Things to consider (not necessarily cons, but things I wished I knew earlier): - It doesn’t include a connector to connect a DeWALT shop vac (I used a DXV08), and neither does the shop vac! I had to separately buy a connector to hook it up with my shop vac. This is why 4-star, not 5. - It vibrates a bit heavily, leaving my hands swell and soar for days after this prolonged period of usage. - The on/off switch is a bit hard to accurately pinpoint, due to the dust protection cover. It takes some time to understand where the “pressing point” should be. But definitely, the dust cover is good for protecting the switch. Overall, I like this sander and would recommend it.

Great sander. Not cordless but very dependable

This DEWALT random orbit sander has been a great addition to my tool collection. Despite its compact size, it works wonders. I used it to remove overspray on my basement stairs, and it handled the job smoothly and efficiently with excellent control. The variable speed is a big plus, allowing you to adjust based on the task, and the sander feels solid and well balanced in hand. One important warning: the dust travels farther than you expect, especially in small or enclosed spaces. Be sure to close doors and cover nearby furniture before you start—I learned that the hard way. Overall, this is a reliable, powerful sander that delivers professional results. I've used a few different orbital sanders over the years, and this DEWALT is easily one of the best in its price range. The variable speed is a huge plus, plus it makes it easy to dial things in depending on whether I’m sanding soft pine or harder woods like oak or walnut. It’s got a good weight to it, but not so much that it wears out your arm. It glides smoothly across the surface without leaving swirl marks, and the vibration is minimal, which is something I really appreciate after long sanding sessions. Dust collection isn’t perfect, but it does a decent job if you hook it up to a vacuum. I ended up using a universal adapter to fit my dust extractor and it’s been solid. For woodworking projects, furniture refinishing, or general cleanup sanding, this sander just works. Feels solid in the hand, doesn’t bog down under pressure, and hasn’t let me down once.
